Dating can be difficult, but it can also be stressful – especially in the world of online dating. Making plans with someone on a dating app carries a lot of uncertainty. You don’t know much about this person and anything could happen.

One thing most people don’t expect when they make a date is for their date to invite other love interests to as well. In general, most of us assume that when we go on a date, it will be just us and the other person. One woman found out that this is not always the case, however.

Kayla Hutch made plans with a man she matched with on Tinder.

When Kayla Hutch made plans with a cute guy she matched with on Tinder, she did not expect things to go as they did. He invited her to his yacht for a ride out on Lake Michigan. That doesn’t sound too bad, right? How could this go wrong?

There’s a party on the boat.

When Kayla arrived, there was a party going on the boat. That’s not too surprising, it’s not as though she figured they would be the only ones on the boat. This was still a date between her and the guy she matched with though, right?

Well, as it turns out, the man had invited several other women onto the boat that day as his date. There were 5 guys and 15 women on the boat, and many of those women believed they were going on a date with the same guy.

The man said the women were just friends.

Then Kayla began talking to some of the women, however, and what they said didn’t exactly line up with what he did.

Kayla spoke with the other women and found out they all had the exact same story. They matched with the guy on Tinder and he invited them on his boat. Kayla was upset but decided to stick around for a bit.

“I was making conversation with some of the other girls and I was sort of asking how they knew him, and one of them told me she knew him the same way I had,” Kayla would later say to Buzzfeed.

“They’d been talking on Tinder and this was their first time meeting. I was immediately angry.”

“I guess that’s a normal thing for him. He invites a bunch of girls for his friends to make sure they can all hook up with someone.”

Kayla stumbled upon her “date” making out with one of his other dates on the boat. This was too much for Kayla and she gave her date a piece of her mind. Fortunately, however, one of the other Tinder dates called a friend with a small speedboat and they came to help the ladies make a dramatic escape.

Dating can be difficult, but perhaps the lesson here is to not accept the first date on a boat. If things get bad, it’s pretty difficult to leave.

Fortunately for Kayla and the others, they were able to get out of there.
