Man overhears woman call him a 'dirty biker,' writes her letter explaining who he really is

It certainly seems like some people have never heard of the expression ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, and biker Luc Perrault, unfortunately, had to find out the hard way.

Luc is extremely passionate about bikes and he spends multiple hours a day on just two wheels. He admits himself that he’s got quite the touch look with his large size, striking tattoos and the fact he’s an avid biker. He loves hanging around with his buddies to have a couple of beers together, but there’s one thing that’s even more important for this man: family.

Underneath that tough and stereotypical look, hides a kind and extremely warmhearted family man who is often described as a ‘softie’.

He says so himself: it’s not because he looks tough on the outside that he has a heart of stone on the inside. Luc also has to deal with the same insecurities and issues that everyone else has.

One day, his heart broke when he visited a Tom Horton’s restaurant in Ontario.

He just made a trip on his mother’s new bike and decided to take a quick break for a bite and a drink. While he was getting off the bike, a little girl approached him and waved at him. “Hello,” she simply said.

Luc was a bit surprised that a little girl would suddenly say hi, but his heart definitely warmed up. He knows he has an intimidating look and was surprised and touched at the same time. He greeted her back and tried to make a conversation.

The man would never judge anyone based on their appearance, but the little girl’s mom clearly disagreed.

The girl’s mom immediately pulled her daughter away from Luc, while saying that “they don’t talk to dirty bikers.”

The man was absolutely left heartbroken when he heard that one sentence. Someone just called him a ‘dirty biker’, without even knowing who he is or what he stands for as a person.

When he returned home, he needed to get some things off his chest and hopped on his Facebook profile to write a heartfelt letter addressed to the woman in question.

“To the family in the red SUV at Tim Horton’s today,” he writes.

“Yes I am a big 280 lbs guy with motorcycles and full of tattoos. I am a welder, I am loud, I drink beer, I swear and I look like I would eat your soul if you stare at me wrong.”

“What you don’t know is that I have been happily married for 11 years, my kids call me daddy, I am a college graduate… My mother is proud of me and tells everyone how lucky she is to have such a wonderful son, my nieces and nephews are always happy to see there m’noncl Luc…When my daughter broke her arm, I cried more than she did. I read books, I help people, I go out of my way to thank war veterans and I even cried at Armageddon.”

Luc’s final paragraph is even more heartfelt.

“So next time I smile and say hi to your little girl and you grab her and tell her, ‘No no dear, we don’t talk to dirty bikers’… Remember that even tho you hurt my feelings, this ‘dirty biker’ would be the first person to run into your burning house to save your little girls goldfish so she wouldn’t be sad!”

The letter went viral on social media and Reddit with thousands of shares.

The world would be a lot warmer and better if everyone was more kind for one another, and not so judgemental. Looks can be deceiving, and Luc definitely didn’t deserve to be called a ‘dirty biker’, but he hopes that spreading his story will spread a message of positivity as well.
