Make your home a little sweeter with this delightful DIY pineapple wreath
If you’re looking for a fun (and simple) summer project, look no further. This pineapple wreath will have your house looking brand new and more welcoming than it already does!
The best part about this project is that you can purchase all of the materials at the dollar store. In fact, this is where this craft comes from. Just remember, that although the pineapple looks good enough to eat, it isn’t!
Also, keep in mind that if you have made wreaths before, you might be able to modify this to your own liking. But for the purpose of simplicity, we’re going to stick with the Dollar Tree’s instructions on how to design this colorful masterpiece.
To start, you’ll need a few supplies (that only costs $1 each!):
- Wire Wreath Form
- Deco Mesh (any color)
- Faux Sunflowers
- Faux Greenery
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue Sticks
Unfortunately, the hot glue gun isn’t sold at Dollar Tree but can be found in other stores. A mini hot glue gun costs about $4 at Michaels.
Now that you’ve got all of the materials you need, you can start crafting the project!
Instructions:
1. To form the pineapple shape, use your hands to gently shape the wreath into a pineapple.
2. Wrap the form in deco mesh and use the hot glue gun to secure the mesh into place. Not only does this keep the deco mesh in place but it will help to hold the shape of the pineapple.
3. Next, take the sunflowers off of the stems and glue each one onto the mesh. Make sure to cover it completely so no mesh shows!
4. Then, use the hot glue gun to attach the greenery to the top to mimic a pineapple’s crown.
5. Finally, allow the sunflower-covered pineapple to dry completely before hanging it on the front door!
That’s it! In just five easy steps, you can transform your house into something pretty amazing. Before you know it, your neighbors will be asking how you came up with such a beautiful design.
However, if you don’t fancy yourself a craftsperson or simply rather spend money and have someone else do the work, you can purchase them here from Laura on Etsy. But then again, where’s the fun in that?
On the other hand, she has sold over 4,500 wreaths while maintaining a perfect five-star rating. But for about $10, what’s the harm in trying to make it yourself? Wreath party, anyone?
What do you say? Will you be making this design yourself or will you be ordering from Laura?
