If you’re a fan of all things pretty and Christmas-y, you’re at the right place!

This DIY project is an elegant snowflake that can be hung in various places. All you need is six sheets of lacy paper, scissors, a pencil, a ruler, and glue.

To start, take one square sheet of paper (large or small, it’s entirely up to you), and fold it diagonally to form a triangle. Then, fold it again to make a smaller triangle.

Next, draw a series of lines across the triangle. The number of lines is up to you as well. In the video, five lines are drawn that are one centimeter apart. Make note not to draw the lines all the way across the triangle!

Next, cut along the lines. Not all the way through. Just to the edge.

Open up the triangle and admire your hard work! But we’re not done yet, of course.

Then, take the inner-most triangle (the smallest one in the middle) and fold the two opposite ends together. Apply a small amount of glue to get the two ends to stick to each other.

You can use a pencil here as well if you’re having trouble getting the ends to stick. Just insert it into the hole that the ends form and press it against the pencil. The result will be a small tube. Be mindful not to flatten the tube!

Next, turn the snowflake over and do the next two pieces of the snowflake the exact same way. Turn it over again and continue this method back-and-forth until complete.

Once you’ve finished with the first one, continue this process with the remaining snowflakes.

Lastly, simply glue the very ends of the snowflakes with one another. Hold them together until the glue hardens and they stick together on their own.

Once all six pieces are glued together, you’ll have yourself a nice and full Christmas ornament ready to be placed anywhere around the house!

If you have a bigger one, you can hang it on the window or even from the ceiling in different rooms. Smaller ones look amazing as decorations on Christmas trees.

Keep in mind, you can use paper with various designs on them to spruce up their appearance. Though they already look very pretty, it wouldn’t hurt to add a pop of color to various ones.
