Boss and Contino have an incredibly special bond. And their friendship has inspired many people online.

Contino the horse had just celebrated his 10th birthday when Boss the Doberman came to his home in Peru.

Boss was a tiny puppy at the time. Contino, being a friendly horse, was keen to show Boss all around their home. But their owner kept the two at a distance at first. She knew that Contino was a friendly animal, but Boss was so tiny.

Eventually, Boss had grown big enough to meet Contino in person.

They instantly became firm friends.

Over the next few days, Contino and Boss formed a bond that has remained strong ever since.

Soon, Boss had become a fully grown dog.

Of course, he was still much smaller than Contino, but their height difference, and species difference, had no effect on their relationship.

Every morning, Boss would look forward to his owner waking up and letting him visit Contno in the stable.

Contino wasn’t the only horse at the home, and Boss got along with them all. But everyone could tell that Contino was his favorite horse.

Soon, Boss was leading Contino all around the home with a length of rope. Contino was more than happy to follow the dog. But sometimes they would end up playing tug of war!

And pretty soon, the household started getting bigger. When Boss was one year old, Kyra came into the home. Like Boss, she was a Doberman.

Boss and Contino were more than happy to share their home with another dog. Kyra fit in perfectly. She was less interested in playing with Contino 24/7 though.

But like the owner, she was fascinated to observe the human and dog best friends going about their daily lives.

And then the family got bigger once more.

Kyra and Boss would go on to have a litter of puppies. In 2015, Kyra gave birth to six boys and four girls.

Over the coming weeks, Boss had to divide his time between being a father to the pups and a friend to Contino. He managed both tasks well.

Eventually, most of the puppies found forever homes. But two of the puppies, Gaia and Zeus, would stay with their parents and Contino.

Pretty soon, it was time to introduce the remaining puppies to Contino. Contino was so happy to see Boss and Kyra’s babies!

Now, Gaia and Zeus are fully grown. They have no idea that it’s unusual for dogs to be friends with horses. As far as they’re concerned, all dogs have horse godfathers!

People all over the world would go on to love Boss and Contino’s friendship. A video of Boss and Contino’s friendship has become incredibly successful online. To date, it has gained over 1 million views. It also has more than 650 likes and dozens of comments. People have been saying things like this:

Clearly, Contino and Boss’s home is full of love. The dog not only has a horse best friend but also a loving dog family and human owner.

This year, Boss reached the age of eight. He still has many more adventures with Contino and his family in the future!
