Golden retriever and puppy friend have a heartwarming meeting
Dogs are known for their friendly nature, and it is not just with humans. Other dogs benefit from their loving and trusting nature as well.
A video demonstrates this perfectly as an older golden retriever befriends a tiny puppy. Before you know it, the two are best friends.
Meeting for the first time
As the video begins, the golden retriever is introduced to a tiny puppy as the dogs’ owner holds the puppy in front of the older dog. The puppy fits in the palm of the owner’s hands. At first unsure of what the little ball of fur is, the older dog sniffs cautiously at the puppy.
Soon, though, the older dog figures out that the puppy means no harm.
Teaching the new guy some tricks
Next, it is time to teach the new guy some tricks. First up is playing with shoes, as the golden retriever brings over a shoe for the puppy to play with. Alas, the puppy is both too small and seemingly uninterested in playing that particular game.
Maybe once he is older.
Getting down to the basics
Until then, they will just have to stick to the basics, such as getting a drink. This one seems easy enough, as the video shows both older dog and younger getting a drink from appropriately sized bowls.
Both dogs are shown drinking some milk from a dish side-by-side.
Playtime is the best time
Up next, it’s playtime as both dogs scamper across the floor. The puppy, this time a little older, is full of energy and bounces back and forth in front of the older dog, who does the best he can to keep up.
And while the puppy needs to learn to pace himself, the older dog has figured this out and moves slowly to go after the puppy.
Taking time out for a snack
Finally, after he is worn out, the puppy comes to rest beside his pal. They are so cute together as they snuggle up against one another. While they were strangers at the start of the video, they are good friends by the end of it. After a rest and a short snack, it is back to playing once again.
As a final show of their friendship, the two engage in a playful tug-of-war before rolling around together on the floor. The video ends with the two playing together outside. So far, the video has gotten over 15.9 million views, showing that people can’t get enough of the two playful friends.
