10 months after Dog the Bounty Hunter loses wife to cancer, he announces engagement

Dog the Bounty Hunter, or Duane Chapman to his family, has experienced some pain in his life. In 2006 his daughter died in a car accident. He still honors her each year on the anniversary of her passing. Quite a bit later, his wife, Beth Smith, also passed from cancer.

The two were often seen on the show together and took down some people!

There are unique relationships out there but being a bounty hunter tag-team-duo must be on top of that list! Unfortunately, Beth passed away on June 26, 2019, due to cancer complications.

Thankfully, in the midst of heartbreak, Dog was able to find love.

Dog and Francie France began dating at the beginning of 2020 and have really hit it off! As things progressed, Dog decided it was time to go for the big move! He popped the question after setting up a candlelit dinner at their house in Colorado!

I guess quarantine had a way of allowing them to get to know each other.

If there is one thing good that has come out of lockdown, its that relationships across the world are either imploding or blossoming! Married couples across the world are thinking “what in the world did I get myself into” and dating couples are thinking ” wow, we should get married”!

For Dog, he wants to celebrate their relationship in style.

In an interesting take, the wedding will have a portion that is open to all his fans! He said:

“Biggest wedding there’s ever been”. In addition, he says it will be open to all his fans and that it will be “one hell of a party.”

Francie was surprised by the proposal.

Every guy does their best to keep the proposal a surprise right up until the final moment. Dog seems to have done just that!

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit.”

Candles are always a win and he seems to have done a superb job of doing exactly what she wanted, she said “yes” anyways!

When Francie came in after getting food, Dog asked her to come over to the couch. He wanted to make it super special.

Only hearing the first part:

“‘Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you.”

That would be scary for a boyfriend to say to you! it almost sounds like he is going to end it! Thankfully, he didn’t wait too long to say the next part.

“So I put all the food in the kitchen and I came in and he said, ‘I know that God brought you into my life and I don’t want to spend one moment of it without you’.”

Francie teared up and felt the rush of emotion.

When he got down on one knee, she felt her tears as he officially popped the question.

“Who can say no to that? It was wonderful.” Francie said.

The couple will get married after the lockdown is lifted.

Dog said some words to all the haters that will inevitably try to rain on his parade.

“And you know there’s always going to be haters, and I probably arrested half of them,” said Duane. “But the truth is that both of us have spent three years walking alongside our spouses sick and we know that God brought us together and that’s why we don’t believe that it’s too soon.”

Everyone deserves a happy ending.
