Kind employee lets stray dog come inside the store during heatwave
For those who have experienced a scorching heatwave, staying indoors and keeping your home as cool as possible is the only solution.
Two years ago, Adolfo Pazzi Ahumada did not notice that he was already out of milk. When he did, it was already 104°F outside because of the heatwave.
Still, he decided to go out and go to the local market. Just thinking of going outside when there is a heatwave can be challenging. You have to wear loose clothes, bring a bottle of cold water, and just make it quick.
Staying outdoors too long can cause serious side effects such as dehydration and even heat stroke. While outside, Adolfo witnessed something unexpected.
There, outside, Adolfo saw a heartwarming moment between a store clerk and a stray dog.
“A stray dog was being fed and getting water from the [store] clerk,” Adolfo told in his interview with The Dodo. “Then I saw they let the dog inside.”
Touched, he wanted to know more about the dog and the kind store clerk. He went inside, and after getting what he needed, he proceeded to the cashier. There, he took the chance to ask the clerk about the pup that they let in.
“He has been here the past [few] days. We suspect he was left behind by his owner. He came to us for help,” the clerk explained. “We could only provide him with food, water and some toys from the store that we paid with our money.”
It’s always heartbreaking to hear stories like this one. You buy a dog and make it feel loved and special but when it gets big or too playful, some people would just dump the poor dog anywhere.
The poor dog might have felt confused, sad, and alone. That’s why when the dog saw the clerk, it stayed near the store, and it seems that the pup knew there were good people inside.
Water, food, and toys for a stray dog already mean so much.
Not only that, knowing the pain of staying outside during the heatwave, the clerk decided to let the dog inside the store so it could rest.
Once inside, the dog did exactly that. The photo that Adolfo took shows the dog lying on the store floor, sleeping.
“We let him inside because the temperature outside is really hell-like. We feel bad for him, but he looks happier around the store,” the clerk said in the interview.
Despite the hardships that this dog experienced, he was still lucky to meet people who know how to care. The employees of the convenience were hopeful that one of their customers would see the dog and would decide to adopt it.
While waiting, they decided to keep the dog inside the store.
It seems like the dog knew his place. He showed sweetness and kindness towards the store employees, and he never made a mess.
As much as he wanted to, Adolfo couldn’t adopt the dog. What he did was he volunteered to pay for the puppy’s milk and some toys.
Adolfo left the store with a smile. He knew the dog was safe with the kind employees of the convenience store.
