Dog owners have been putting clothing and accessories on their dogs since, well, probably since dogs first became man’s best friend. And while putting your dog in cute outfits is fun, now there is a new fashion item that is taking the Internet by storm, Crocs.

A new trend in dog wear

You heard that right, Crocs, or the shoes that many middle and high school students wear every day across the U.S. It seems this fashion trend has now extended to dogs as well. Now, in addition to shirts, sweaters, and jackets, you can dress your dog in these comfy, plastic shoes.

Crocs are both fashionable and functional

But are there benefits to your dog wearing Crocs? While a dog’s feet and foot pads are made for use with no covering, just like humans, dogs can benefit from wearing Crocs.

And while this purpose might be better served by doggie boots or shoes, Crocs can serve this purpose as well, especially when it comes to hot pavement or asphalt.

As far as fashion is concerned, Crocs are probably the better choice. Now, dogs can be just as cool as their owners.

And it seems people across the Internet are starting to find out about this latest trend in doggie fashion with many sharing their amazement. And while the tiny shoes aren’t manufactured by makers of the footwear favorite, the product does look just like the actual shoes, only smaller.

A casual shoe for your dog to wear around the house or yard

Not meant for long walks with your dog, the canine Crocs are more for casual wear around the house. In addition to growing in popularity, the doggie-version of the Croc shoe is also getting some attention from celebrities.

The shoes come in one size only

Unfortunately, big dogs will have to wait to be able to wear Crocs as currently the shoes are only manufactured for smaller dogs. But who knows, maybe bigger dogs will eventually get the opportunity to wear Crocs of their own if the manufacturer decides to branch out.
