It’s always fascinating to see deer.

They are beautiful creatures associated with being elusive but not aggressive and fierce. An image of a calm portion of the woods usually shows a sunlit rainforest with a quiet animal eating vegetation and this animal is usually a deer.

Deers are perceived as tame animals although they are not domesticated like dogs and cats. They are often seen as representations of beauty and tranquility, and this is why people can’t help but be captivated whenever a deer is in their line of sight.

A deer is often bolting whenever other animals are near them, but this is not always the case.

It might surprise people to know that although a deer’s reflex action whenever another creature is nearby is to run away, there are moments when they prefer to stay in the area and just interact. One good example of this scenario playing out is through a video clip uploaded on YouTube.

The clip shows a rare encounter between a deer and a dog, and it was truly enchanting to see them moving close to each other without fear of one another.

The moment was all captured on camera which is very fortunate.

Once a deer sees other species coming closer, its initial reaction is to bolt and be as far away from the other as possible. Their way of defending themselves is not as fierce as other wild animals so running away gives them a better chance of surviving.

However, in this video, the deer can be seen staying in place as the dog approaches and closes the distance between them. The deer drinks water from the stream while the dog is also about to do the same.

They see each other and yet, they keep their places as the other continues to drink, and the other walks calmly forward.

Yukon is a dog that loves the outdoors and his owner, who also is the one who uploaded the video, walks him around the woods near their home. On one of their walks, the two of them met an orphaned fawn alone and drinking water. They began referring to the deer as “Daisy.”

He immediately grabs his phone and filmed the beautiful scene unfolding before his eyes. In the clip, Yukon also starts moving closer to Daisy and their interaction was all captured on camera.

Unlike what most people would expect, Daisy’s reaction is different compared to other deers.

She would always make herself present even when the human and his big pup would appear in sight. She even runs with Yukon and plays with him, as if Daisy also considers herself a puppy.

There was even a time when Yukon was busily looking for stones and Daisy would just run towards him, hopping happily as the two of them played in the water. It is a nice sight to see both animals interacting in such a way. This interaction gives us all a deeper look into how deer can adapt to their surroundings and the other animals in the area.
