Neighbors spot car driving in circles then see a dog in the driver's seat

You can’t really tell how your day is going to be.

Anne Sabol lived in a quiet suburban neighborhood. The quaint rows of houses and the orderly sidewalks are enough to make anyone who loves peace move into the area.

So, one can only imagine her shock when she stepped out of the house one morning in November 2019. The event she witnessed may have long passed but we’re pretty sure it was something she’ll never ever forget even if she tried.

When Sabol woke up, she didn’t expect her day to turn from strange to even stranger.

The quiet neighborhood of Port St. Lucie woke up to a sight that made them scratch their heads. Sabol saw a car backing up. It would’ve been normal but the car just kept on going backward.

She thought it was weird and it only got more confusing when she saw the cops watching the car go in circles.

Fortunately, the car wasn’t going recklessly fast and it seems like it was just circling.

She tried to identify the person driving the car but to her surprise, she saw no one in the driver’s seat. Eventually, teams from the fire department arrived on the scene.

As more and more people congregated outside their homes, the situation became clearer and clearer. When the car made a pass in front of Sabol, she saw a hunched figure on the center console.

Taking a closer look, she realized the driver was a big black Labrador.

The car was allegedly left running by one of the neighbors. The dog jumped into the center console and changed gears.

A series of fortunate events soon followed. First, the wheels of the car were fully turned. Next, the car didn’t accelerate it was just going in reverse at a controlled pace. Finally, the car somehow ended up in the middle of the cul-de-sac where it made donut after donut after donut.

The situation finally concluded when the car hit a mailbox and some garbage.

The intrusions were enough to slow the car down and allowed law enforcement and emergency officials to finally intervene.

The ordeal almost lasted for an hour. The owner of the car and the dog, who wished to remain anonymous, promised to pay for the related damages, especially the neighbor’s mailbox.

The strange event finally ended but it will be talked about for years to come.

After all, it’s not every day that you’d see a dog drive a car, more so, in reverse. The remnants of the skid marks on the cul-de-sac will be a lasting reminder of what transpired in the otherwise quiet neighborhood of Port St. Lucie.

“Perfect circle for an hour? Dogs are evolving. Soon, it’s Planet of the Dogs,” said one comment.

“That dog was literally driving his neighbors crazy.” Another one joked. A commenter even said that they’d like to personally congratulate the dog.

As for Sabol, she only has a few words for the dog, “They should give that thing a license.”
