Dogs have a strong sense of smell and they can easily remember the neighborhood where they live. It’s just that whenever they feel that they are lost, oftentimes, they become anxious and the feeling startles them.

This lost dog, though, is clever enough to find his way home.

This incident happened in one of the busiest streets of the world.

Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and is a large city that is known for its lively and busy streets. It’s crowded with street vendors, people, and vehicles.

With that being said, the beautiful city also stores dangers on its crowded streets, especially for lost dogs.

Sadly, a puppy was put in a life-threatening situation. He got separated from his owner and he didn’t know what to do.

Knowing the dangers on the streets, he may end up in a dark situation wherein he would never see his owner ever again.

The ugly truth about the beautiful city of Bangkok.

“Street dogs, commonly soi dogs “สุนัขพันทาง” (in Thai soi means ‘side-street’, ‘lane’, or ‘alley’) in Thailand, are ownerless, free-ranging dogs. These dogs are sometimes rounded up and sold as meat in Vietnam and China. It is estimated that there are about 8.5 million dogs in Thailand, of which about 730,000 are abandoned by their owners. Bangkok alone is estimated to have from 100,000 to 300,000 street dogs. Few have been vaccinated against canine diseases.”

Thankfully, this puppy didn’t end up having the same fate.

The lost dog didn’t get the help that he needed and he was desperate, so he sought help out himself.

It’s still not clear, though, as to how long he had been wandering around or how long ago he had eaten his last meal. But the fact that he’s on the streets made one thing clear- he was lost and didn’t know his way back home.

Good thing that he remembered his vet’s clinic!

It’s the place that eventually became key in his rescue. The lost puppy found the Putahracsa Veterinary Clinic– where he got his vaccines months earlier before he got lost.

A surveillance video shows the dog’s attempt in asking help to find his way home.

The video shows the lost pup arriving at the vet clinic. There, we can see that there were still people inside that were being attended by the staff.

He patiently waited- it looked like he already knew the rule of “first come – first served”.

He was putting his paws on the clinic’s glass windows and door.

It seemed that he was knocking to get some attention. Then, finally, after waiting for a few minutes, he was noticed by one of its staff members.

Pretty soon they let him in, probably because one of them recognized the poor lost pup.

Then they called his worried owner to let her know they found her beloved dog- or, rather, her dog had found them!

It didn’t take long before he and his owner were back on each other’s arms.

The clinic shared the video on their Facebook page and got a whopping 769k views, 16k likes, and 1.5k shares. It simply shows that the pup’s cleverness has amazed a lot of people on the internet, us included!
