Rescue dog gets new loving family but still runs away at the first opportunity he gets
Any dog lover can confirm that dogs are the most devoted pets. They’ll share your mood, no questions asked. Loyalty comes naturally to these bundles of joy, and they’ll stop at nothing to make their owner happy. Food, clean water, and some cuddling are enough in return. We want to share a story about a dog who got so attached to a woman who ran the shelter he was in, that no new home was good enough. His heart had chosen, and the doggo ran back to the only owner he’s ever loved.
A couple from Fowler, California decided to try and save as many abandoned animals as possible.
Yes, stray animals are pretty common everywhere. The same goes for abandoned pets; we don’t think it’s possible to find a place where every animal is safe, happy, and taken care of. However, in Fowler, the situation is a bit more dire – animals that end up on the streets are mostly caught and killed. That didn’t sit well with a couple who loves animals. So, what’s the logical thing to do? Krystle and Allen Woodward opened a dog rescue and shelter organization called Pink Paws ResQ.
The shelter was officially opened in 2011, but Krystle was earlier engaged in several organizations that have been saving animals.
In 2006, Krystle decided to become a full-time animal savior. She was a member of several non-profit organizations until she realized that she was ready to open a shelter herself.
These two are ambitious about giving every animal a warm home.
Allan and Krystle have said in a couple of interviews that all animals at the shelter are equally loved. They try to dedicate approximately the same amount of time to all dogs, and they love them as if they were their children.
Pink Paws ResQ is a non-profit organization, and the selfless act the couple displays has warmed our hearts.
Little Geoffrey was one of Pink Paws family members.
Being an affectionate, loving dog – Geoffrey attached to his foster family, and has been showing it a lot, Krystle did her best to find him a nice home, and a new family that would love him as much as he deserves.
Upon being adopted, Geoffrey quickly realized that he doesn’t belong in a new home.
A nice family came, fell in love with Geoffrey right away, the paperwork was done, and the puppy could go with them. But, nobody asked Geoffrey for an opinion, and his new owners said that he was depressed on the way to his new home. Things didn’t get any better after he arrived, and he used the first opportunity he had to ran away. It happened on the first day with the new family.
The new owners immediately contacted Pink Paws and notified Krystle about what happened.
Naturally, Krystle was worried and began searching for Geoffrey. Everyone from the shelter drove across the city in hope of spotting him somewhere.
A search for Geoffrey lasted for a few days, and then the crucial tip arrived.
Someone called the shelter and revealed that the dog was hiding in a warehouse. Krystle went there and found him hiding under some shelves.
He was scared and injured. They later realized that he was involved in a small car accident while running back to shelter.
You’ve got to admire Geoffrey’s courage
He didn’t know where the shelter was or how to get there, but the stubborn little creature took off anyway. Geoffrey’s love for his foster mom had led him all the way – and Krystle realized that the best thing would be to adopt him.
You go, Geoffrey, family is definitely where your heart is.
