Many homeless dogs go through their whole life without receiving any special treatment. For a stray, the best that most can hope for is a meal and a clean play to sleep. With so many strays living on the streets around the world, anytime one can be saved it is a good thing.

And sometimes, depending on who the stray is rescued by, can lead to a life-changing transformation.

A life of hardship and neglect

One homeless dog had lived his entire life neglected by hateful humans and did his best to avoid them. Hunger is what drove him to one woman’s door as his need to eat made him take a chance. Fortunately, she was just the person he needed in his life.

A kind soul decides to rescue him

Heartbroken at his appearance, the woman decided to rescue the skittish stray she saw before her. She attempted to coax him inside, but at first, he was too scared. With a few gentle words from her, he soon surrendered himself into her hands.

Getting the royal treatment

In a video, the rescued pooch is shown getting the royal treatment. At first, it seems like he doesn’t know what is going on. Chances are, he never had a bath in his life, and it shows in the look in his eyes. But soon, she washes away all the dirt and he is nice and clean, now to work on that tangled mess of hair.

Making sure he is nice and dry; the woman begins to work him over with a brush. You can tell that he is starting to like what is going on as his mood seems to brighten immensely as she gives him a good brushing. Regardless, he still seems a little puzzled by the process.

A transformation occurs

The longer she brushes him, the more you can see a smile creeping in. Before too long, he is just like any other dog getting groomed. He lovingly lays his head in her hand as she grooms around his face, even allowing her to give him a little trim.

Before it is over, he has transformed completely, both physically and mentally. No longer is he the scared dog living on the street, but a completely new pup. A dog ready to receive the affection and attention of a loving owner.

As the woman gives him the finishing touches, little does he know how his life might be about to change. Fortunately, through the love of people like the woman, he and others are given a new chance at life every year.
