Every day, dog waits to hug the mailman, not knowing he’d just lost a dog of his own
There’s almost nothing worse than losing a pet. Dogs are incredibly loyal who just offer love and unconditional snuggles daily. We truly don’t deserve dogs because no one else on Earth can love you the way a dog can.
Which is what makes it incredibly tough when we lose a beloved furry four-legged member of our family.
This mailman knew that pain all too well having recently lost his dog.
Nothing could fill the void he was feeling. Frankly, we understand that.
The man knew his dog had crossed over that Rainbow Bridge and while he knew the dog was in a much better place, the hole in his heart was giant.
While the man was out delivering mail, he met a Golden Retriever named Moose.
Moose seemed to know exactly what this man needed. Dogs really are the best.
Moose started watching the mailman from the distance. As we both know, dogs and mail carriers don’t always see eye to eye.
However, things changed quickly for this duo. Moose was no longer interested in watching from a distance.
Moose started waiting for the mail carrier to arrive.
Rain or shine, Moose was outside waiting.
Moose was ready for his new friend’s arrival.
As soon as our postman arrives, Moose bounds over to the truck wagging his tail, ready to get pet. Moose runs right up to the edge of his invisible fence, every single day.
This bond has been so special in the mail carrier’s time of need.
Moose’s owner started watching this adorable interaction from her window and filmed it for us all to enjoy!
While she says Moose loves everyone and what Golden doesn’t, the two formed a unique bond.
She loved how truly incredible the bond they shared was. Moose would wait by the window daily anticipating his friend’s arrival. Like clockwork, the mailman arrived at the same time each day.
Bringing the mailman and Moose much joy.
The mailman was always ready for his pal Moose to lay on the kisses and hugs.
Once the owner could hear the mail truck coming, she would let Moose out to greet his friend.
Moose would stand on his hind legs to get as close to eye level as he can. Clearly, a very respectful dog. Maybe his owner taught him to always look someone in the eye when having any sort of interaction as that would be proper etiquette.
Pretty quickly this video went viral, reaching over a million views!
Dogs seem to be pretty in tune with the things we need as Moose knew exactly what his new friend needed.
Having recently lost a dog, Moose quickly tried to fill the void and show him some kindness.
Dogs truly are man’s best friend.
One commenter on the video noticed that our mailman seemed to have his priorities in order as he would get out of the truck to pet Moose before grabbing the mail.
Isabella Clark said, “He literally jumps out of the truck to pet him first before even delivering the mail: he’s got his priorities in check.”
We couldn’t agree more!
