Dog leads police to owner thrown from truck in crash
When we think of guardian angels, we think of heavenly beings guarding us against harm.
Of course, thatâs more of an imaginative or fictional way of thinking about these little angels. On Earth, we find that our guardian angels come in different shapes and sizes.
Some of our guardian angels are people in the community who literally protects us.
Police officers, firefighters, doctors, and the likes. These people are tasked to make sure we are safe. Some of them even save our lives.
Other people see guardian angels in the face of a random stranger.
We meet different people as we go about our day, not knowing that they save our lives one way or another, be it as simple as a smile when weâre having a rough day or as grand as taking us out of danger.
For this man, his guardian angel is his dog, Tinsley.
Tinsley is a Shiloh Shepherd who was only a year old when she showed how much she could protect and save her hooman. It was a late-night Monday when she was seen running in Memorial Bridge at I-89.
The police tried to coral her, but she just kept running away.
What the officers didnât know was she was trying to ask for their help. They followed her, leading them North towards a damaged guard rail along the street. Thatâs when they found out why she was desperately getting their attention.
There was a truck that got overturned over the guard rails.
Two gentlemen got evicted from the vehicle, one of which was her owner Cam Laundry. Cam credited his survival to Tinsley, which still left him in awe of her intelligence in knowing precisely what to do at that time.
Even Hartford EMTâs Fire Department agreed on that one.
They credited their speedy response to Tinsley, who alerted and led them to the accident scene. According to Captain Jack Hedges of the Hartford Fire Department, she was also sitting calmly beside her owner while tending to the two passengers.
The two were sent to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment.
Aside from their injuries, they also suffered hypothermia since they were lying on the snowy ground the whole time. They couldnât imagine the worse that could happen if Tinsley hadnât alerted the officers right away.
Cam said Tinsley was always by his side, even on the road.
She sits in the car with him as his co-pilot, and they spend some quality time together wherever they go. And in one of those moments, she turned out to be the guardian angel that he needed.
When Cam was released from the hospital, he knew he had to treat his little girl for saving his life.
âShe gets spoiled all the time. Sheâll probably get some venison and burger tonight and probably some back straps with it,â Cam said.
Surely, Tinsley deserved that treat!
On the other hand, she seemed unshaken and unharmed from the accident. She was still as playful as ever and ready to ride beside her favorite hooman again.
