Silly dog starts to fake a limp after his dad injures his ankle
Humans and dogs have a unique relationship. A deep connection that at times nobody can explain. And when they do silly things, it just validates our feelings, especially our love for them.
Are you ready to witness a special story of a dog and its owner?
When one man was injured, his dog decided to deceive him!
It’s the ultimate sign of friendship when someone can make fun of you even if you’re in pain. It’s almost like making a trick about a problem makes it easier to deal with and lifts us out of our gloom.
In June of 2020, Russel Jones from London fractured his ankle and received a lot of sympathy from his relatives, or at least the majority of them did.
Bill, his dog, was the only member of his family who didn’t coddle him as much as the rest of them did. It may, however, depending on how you approach the situation. Is it possible that his dog was only extra sympathetic? We’ll leave it up to you to tell.
Meet Bill — a lurcher, a mixed-breed dog that combines the traits of a sighthound and a retriever.

Bill loves to run around and play all day because he’s just so energetic. When he realized his father was injured, however, his entire attitude changed. Michelle, Russel’s wife, even noticed something funny one day.
Whenever Russel was around with his crutches, his pet Bill would walk with a limp too!
When the two were together in the morning, Bill would walk with a slight limp so his father wouldn’t feel alone in his failure to walk properly. It was so compelling that the couple started to be worried about their dog’s welfare!
After taking Bill to the veterinary clinic, they learned that there was nothing wrong with their puppy.
Bill was just cheating! When they noticed him behaving differently every time he was away with his father, they knew what was going on.
When Bill wasn’t around, he would leap and play as though nothing was wrong.
Then it became obvious what was really happening. Bill had been following in the footsteps of his father, who was also limping!
Jones wrote on a Lurcher Facebook group, with over 55K shares:
“Cost me £300 in vet fees and X-rays, nothing wrong just sympathy. Love him. ”
Sympathy cost them a lot of money in vet bills, but at the very least they discovered that their puppy is just a huge, empathetic goofball who will do whatever his father does.
According to WebMD, “Dogs just can’t help it. They automatically and voluntarily imitate the behavior of their owners, even if it costs them a snack.”
They were also able to record a video of Bill limping along with his father while walking, going back to their home.
This canine was brilliant!

Not everyone has been blessed enough to have a dog like this. We have a sneaky feeling that his limping was a prank on his father. We’ll never know, right? Perhaps, laughter is truly the best medicine!
