If you’re a dog owner or just a dog lover you know how special these wonderful animals are. They are loyal and kind, always loving and it goes without saying but, they are “man’s best friend.” They can be the catalyst that ties a family together and what makes a house feel like a home.

The bond that dogs create with their owners is deep. We have a beautiful story about a dog and their owner being reunited, and it shows the bond and trust they have between them.

We don’t have a huge back story but at some point the dog got lost. It was missing for three years. Can you imagine the feeling that man must have felt when the dog vanished? Coming home and not having your best friend there. Wondering where they are and what situation they might be in? You’d be thinking at night “where is my dog sleeping?”

Well despite three long years with the dog missing the man never gave up hope. He continued to look for the dog cause we know how much it meant to him. From the dog’s perspective, we’ll never know what she thought or what she went through. But in this video, it shows how much they missed each other.

After such a long amount of time the dog is certainly apprehensive and doesn’t recognize the man. The handler from the shelter holds the lease as the dog approaches slowly.

The dog begins to sniff the man as he kneels down to make the dog more comfortable. The dog’s nose is its biggest asset and it can tell the dog more than its own eyes can. The pup keeps sniffing and gets a little closer. It senses that something is familiar.

The dog then makes the connection of who this person is, and that tail starts to wag with incredible speed. This is the moment we all smile. You know what a happy dog looks like and this is it.

The dog goes into full-blown jumping and clearly cannot hold back her excitement. It’s like the dog wants to occupy the same space as the man. The dog then goes into submission and begs for a belly rub. The owner knows what to do, of course, belly rubs!

As if the dog couldn’t get more excited, she springs up and they begin to play together. Each basking in the moment. The feeling of being reunited after three years apart must be amazing.

Those who were lucky enough to witness the reunion couldn’t help but remark on how happy the dog suddenly was as it jumped up and licked the man’s face. There was gushing all around as the dog continued to show affection to her dad. “Aww, she’s so cute! Look at her! They’re so happy!”

And the owner, overcome with joy at being reunited with his pet again, could only murmur, “Oh, my love,” as he held her close.

The kisses go on and on.

The dog was well taken care of at the shelter and thank god they did a great job. But for both the dog and her owner, there’s no place like home. Let’s hope they never are separated again.
