Determined dog makes hole in fence just so he can see his buddy on other side

How far would you go just to see a friend?

Some of us swore that we drove hundreds of miles at night and on a whim.

Others spontaneously booked a flight just to get to the other side of the country, or maybe some other country entirely.

No matter what humans go through to see their friends, one thing remains true for all of them.

Dogs do it better.

It’s not only humans, who can show this kind of dedication to a friend.

These dogs proved that nothing can ever come between them.

Not even the sturdiest of fences.

Elizabeth Potter from Red Wing, Minnesota was on her way to work when she noticed something.

Her dog, a Saint Bernard named Everest, which is fitting for his size, was doing something by the fence.

And he wasn’t just doing something – he was actually fixated on a certain spot.

Confused and curious, Potter called out to her dog from the porch to see what his giant dog was up to.

Upon hearing his name, Everest quickly snapped his attention toward Potter.

Everest’s wasn’t the only face there.

Everything seemed normal for a moment until something else looked at her. Then, she was surprised by what she saw.

Another familiar face was poking through.

With only his head peeping through the fence, Bear, an English Mastiff that’s just a year younger than Everest, looked at Potter too.

It was then that she realized what her big bozo of a dog just did.

As the caption of the video says:

“Bear and Everest had put a hole straight through the fence with their giant heads, which were no doubt filled with nothing but mischief.”

And truly, what mischief it was. You can even hear Potter asking the dog, “Bear?” if what she was seeing was real.

And yes, the whole thing’s true.

As true as how Bear tried to wriggle and blast through the small hole the two dogs made.

Potter chuckled at the situation and just sighed saying nothing can keep the friends apart.

Then, before any more damage was done or before Bear could hurt himself, a man ran towards the dogs and let Bear get into the yard through another door.

So what do you do when you have two dedicated friends?

The next part of the clip was just filled with sawing and drilling sounds.

One might think that they were repairing the fence.

They weren’t repairing, they were modifying.

It turns out, they were doing something much more amazing.

The owners of the dogs must’ve agreed that their dogs will tear everything in their path before they accept the fact of their separation.

All owners accepted the inevitable. Defeat.

The owners created the only viable solution against these slobbering fence menaces.

They instead build a small gate through the fence. The gate is also like a big iron mesh so that the dogs can interact and see each other even if it’s closed.

The end result is very much like how we all wanted the story to end.

The two dogs interacted through the gate and sometimes, their owners open it so that they could go to each other’s yard and play all day.

See how Bear and Everest defeated their owners’ silly notions about fences in the video below!
