It is never easy to be apart from the ones we love.

Whether it is a day or a year, the time we spend far from the special people in our lives is a challenging phase we must overcome. The thought of not being able to be next to them physically can be very painful and saddening, but the reality of life is what we should accept.

The anxiety of separation is one of the biggest hurdles and sacrifices that military families must endure. The soldiers in the family spend months, even years, living miles away from each other and this keeps sadness at bay. Although we have all sorts of technological advances that make communication easier, it still does not change the fact that being with them physically is preferable.

Apparently, humans are not the only ones facing the challenge of missing someone.

Dogs are also known to be anxious whenever they miss their fur parents. According to The Dog People, there are tell-tale signs that appear when pups miss being around their humans.

One obvious sign is when they cuddle or even chew the things owned by their masters while they are gone. Of course, we also know how much they stay by the door whenever they wait for their owner’s return. Like humans, these animals are also capable of feeling loneliness and they even cry when they know that their fur parents are about to leave them.

Although we know how dogs can miss their owners terribly, it is still heart-melting to see them show their affection whenever their masters return.

One dog was caught on camera as she happily reunites with her military dad after he got deployed on duty for nine months. She missed him and this showed in her emotional reaction upon seeing him.

Freyja is a German Shepherd whose dad is a military man who got sent to the camp.

His deployment took months and as much as Freyja misses her dad, she could not do anything but endure the sadness and wait for him patiently to return home.

In the clip, the soldier can be seen as he relaxes on the couch. He knew Freyja missed him but he was not prepared to see her adorable reaction.

The man was eager to meet the dog with warm hugs and kisses, but his dog missed him so much that her reaction was more intense than what the man expected.

Freyja bolted to her military dad and just wriggled excitedly to get as many hugs and kisses as she can.

Seeing her reaction melted her owner’s heart, as well as the hearts of more than 577,000 viewers online. What a pure and loving heart!

This dog’s reaction is simple but emotional. It is a special gift that pet owners are privileged to have. Freyja and other dogs who love their fur parents completely are such a blessing to these families. Aww, we truly don’t deserve dogs and we are lucky to have their love.
