Dog miraculously survives 17 gunshot wounds and becomes a therapy dog

You may have seen tons of news about animal cruelty and their rescue, but Maggie’s store is one that will make you believe in miracles.

Dogs are beautiful creatures that deserve love and care, just like any other animal out there. Their playful attitude and energetic nature make them the perfect companions for humans.

It may be difficult to admit, but not all people are keen on taking care of dogs and treating them as family. In fact, some people can do the most horrendous things to them, and Maggie was unfortunately one of the dogs who happened to meet the worst kind of humans.

The five-year-old pup suffered a terrible experience that even humans would never dream of having.

Maggie was found tied inside a box dumped on the streets of Lebanon. She was pregnant at the time and was severely injured.

She had multiple gunshot wounds, her eyes were shot out, and her right ear was cut off. It was eventually found that she had 17 gunshot wounds. It was definitely a miracle that the poor dog survived her life-threatening injuries.

It must have been a difficult and painful ordeal, but Maggie never gave up.

After she was found, Maggie was given the medical care she needed and an online campaign to bring her out of the Middle East was created for her. Half a year later, the brave dog was finally brought out of the country and was adopted by an animal lover from Brighton in the UK.

Kasey Carlin, 25 years old, heard about Maggie’s inspiring story thru the Wild At Heart Foundation, an animal charity organization.

“This person in Lebanon posted asking for help and a woman in London saw the post and got help,” she told The Argus. “My mum saw Maggie’s post and said we had to foster her. I got home and saw the picture and agreed.”

Getting Maggie out of Lebanon was not an easy feat, but it was made possible.

The first concern was making sure the pup was in a good condition in terms of her health. She underwent medical treatment wherein they had to stitch her eyes shut to prevent further damage.

Now, the inspiring dog has flown to the UK where she served a bigger purpose. Her story did not end with her being saved. She also had the opportunity to help humans in need of someone to accompany them.

Maggie passed the exams necessary for her to become a therapy dog and is now a proud member of Underdog International. Wow!

The brave pup even has her own Instagram account wherein she has a massive following of more than 539,000.

People who have seen and known Maggie have been moved by her incredible story.

“She’s just brilliant. She’s so energetic and bubbly. She walks off the lead and follows me around. She must have been in agony with all she’s been through, but she never hurt anyone and she’s so loving,” Kasey said.

This incredible doggo surely deserves love and affection. It is such a blessing to see her thriving despite and in spite of all that has happened to her. She finally found love and family, and we are all grateful to all the people who made this happen.
