A miracle dog who’s missing part of his brain is the “happiest pup in the world”

Most people are attracted to beautiful, happy, and healthy dogs. This is one of the reasons why they have better chances of getting adopted than those who look odd and sick.

When Jennifer Osborne saw an Australian Cattle Dog with a unique physical appearance in a pet store, though, she knew she had to take him home.

Leaving the dog would mean leaving him to someone who might just abandon him or put him down, and she just can’t let that happen.

“I’m thankful I got him rather than someone who would have abandoned him or put him down. We believe Moose was born this way,” Jennifer said.

She took the dog home and named him Moose.

It didn’t take a long time for the dog to warm up to her.

The Cattle Dog suffers from a wide range of health issues.

Moose started showing symptoms when he reached 6 months of age. Experts believe his condition was caused by his nose being pushed into his skull while he was still inside his mother’s womb.

Moose has an underbite as well as a crooked nose. He also has a deformed skull and brain. He has a cherry eye, too. It’s a condition that causes the protrusion of his tear ducts into his eyelid.

And if all that weren’t enough, the dog also has seasonal allergies. He began experiencing convulsive seizures which leave his entire body twitching and his mouth foaming.

“He has been on a low dose of Phenobarbital that has kept grand mal seizures away since he started the medication. But he continued to have focal seizures every so often and they can last hours,” Jennifer shared.

Right after Jennifer brought Moose home, she decided to get him checked.

His MRI revealed shocking findings.

“Shortly after we got Moose, an MRI showed [he] had no forehead, no sinuses, missing parts of his brain, particularly the part that helps him smell, and a cyst in his brain where the deformity is,” she continued.

The MRI also revealed that Moose’s brain is squished together. His vet thinks that his seizures are bound to get worse. Fortunately, it won’t affect or shorten his life span.

Moose’s health didn’t make him less adorable.

In fact, it made him more special. He has different colored eyes which you don’t always see in dogs. Plus, his underbite reveals his lower teeth. It makes him look like he’s smiling all the time.

With how lovable he looks, Jennifer felt that the world needs to see more of Moose.

So, she takes really cute photos of him and shows them off on social media.

There, you can see Moose cleverly and adorably posing for the camera. You can see him either wearing his glasses, a cute tie, or both.

Moose is really just like any other dog!

He really loves to play. However, for some reason, he doesn’t like sharing his toys with the other dogs at home.

He’s got an extremely lovable personality and energy you can’t easily match.

For Jennifer, having Moose is a blessing.

“‘He is the happiest dog I have ever met and I’m thankful he’s my dog. By the way Moose acts you wouldn’t think his brain had any issues. He is extremely intelligent, has so much personality, and loves everyone especially his momma. He loves to play with his toys but doesn’t understand sharing toys with his siblings. He believes they are all for him. He knows he’s a special boy!'”
