Dog's joy uncontainable when his soldier mom comes home from deployment
Leaving your pets can be heartbreaking, especially when it’s for long periods of time. On the bright side, this makes the reunion that much greater. When this US Army soldier comes back from a 10-month deployment, no one is as happy to see her as her beloved dog.
Casandra Cabrera is in the US Army, back in 2018 she came back from a 10-month deployment and had a joyful reunion with her dog Miss May
Dogs truly are a man/woman’s best friend, which makes leaving them behind extremely difficult. Casandra’s dog, Missy May, had just turned one-years-old when the US Army soldier was deployed overseas. Being such a long time, Cassandra had no clue whether or not her dog would remember the bond they had.

“I left when she had just turned 1, and wasn’t sure if she would remember me after all that time,” Casandra told The Dodo.
Casandra’s mother, Robbi, made sure to bring the whole family to the airport to greet her home, including Missy May
When it was time to get Casandra from the airport, everyone waited patiently except her pup, it was like she could sense her closest friend was on her way home and was overcome with excitement.
As soon as she saw Cassandra’s face, Missy May couldn’t contain her excitement and bolted for her returning friend. The excited pup nearly tackled her as she ran into her arms and started licking her uncontrollably.
All the worry that Missy May wouldn’t remember her evaporated when she plunged into her arms
You can see Casandra coming down the escalator before Missy rushes her and showers her with love. The pup stood on her hind legs to greet her best friend, they both had smiles from ear to ear during the heartwarming encounter. The love between the two is obvious and melted hearts all around the world.
There’s no faking this kind of bond, you can see it in both of their eyes that they’ve missed each other dearly, hopefully, Casandra won’t have to leave her again anytime soon.
Seeing the US Army soldier and her dog reuniting is so touching, and there are many other videos like it
This story and the video reminds me of another active service member reuniting with his dog, except Tyler actually reconnected with the dog he rescued from Syria. The video of him finally reuniting with the puppy whose life he saved was posted to YouTube by USA Today and has over 5.3 million views.
Social media has given us the ability to see all sorts of amazing reunions like Casandra and Missy Mays, but not all are as cute as the adorable pair. These two will make you laugh and cry at the same time, it’s beautiful.
Robbi posted the touching reunion on Facebook and it quickly went viral, hundreds of thousands have viewed the video
People from all over were touched by the moving reunion, many people left heartfelt comments for the returning soldier and her pooch.
What a beautiful video, it shows us how deep the bond between dog and their owners really goes. Missy Mays excitement was so obvious, I’m surprised she didn’t run up the escalator. To see the tear-jerking reunion, watch the video below!
