Dog’s owners get creative during quarantine, with each day bringing an exciting new look
With stay-at-home orders throughout many U.S. states stretching into a second month, it is expected that some people are starting to get a little stir-crazy during the COVID-19 pandemic. To deal with their isolation, people have been turning to a variety of activities.
Dog owners Hannah and Adam Heil have found a unique way to deal with their time in quarantine.
The Heils involve their dog Hank in their stay-at-home hijinks
Hannah and Adam’s method to fight the boredom of staying at home all of the time involves their dog, Hank, a Newfoundland. Each day of quarantine within their Wisconsin home, Hannah and Adam have been brushing their dog’s hair into new and unique styles.
The couple started an Instagram page for Hank
On top of that, the creative couple has also started to dress Hank up as part of his daily makeover. Once he is ready, Hannah takes a picture of Hank and posts it to an Instagram page they started in his honor.
So far, the page has over 16,000 followers. The Heils plan on continuing to give Hank a new look each day until the quarantine is over.
Hank is just happy to be with his owners
As for Hank, he seems to love the attention, though it leaves you wondering if he even knows what is going on. At least he is a good sport about it and has given his owners, and the Internet, many hours of entertainment with his various getups and hairstyles.
“I work in our living room, and my husband works 20 feet behind me, and Hank lays right in the middle right at the front door. So anytime we have a break, we go lay with him; he gets all the attention all the time now,” Hannah told Insider.
The couple has given Hank quite a few makeovers
Some of the more prominent looks Hank has sported include a pirate, punk rocker, and a variety of other characters from music, TV, and movies. And while Hank’s hair has gotten pretty long since the quarantine started, it makes it perfect for brushing into a variety of styles and looks.

What you can do if you are stuck at home with a pet
One of the unforeseen stresses of being stuck at home during the coronavirus quarantine is the impact your increased presence has on your pet. Normally, if you work away from home, your pet only expects to see you in off-hours, not all day. This new normal can disrupt everybody’s schedule.
If you are stuck at home with a pet during quarantine, you should use time as an opportunity to bond with them. You could do like the Heils and give your dog a makeover. If that is not your style, then consider participating in some activities with them, including hiding treats for them to find, teaching them some new tricks, and watching a pet-related movie with them.
Most importantly, have patience with your pet, as having you at home more often is a big change for them too. Watch the video below for more on how to help your dog cope with having you at home all of the time.
