Dog pees on an electric fence and immediately learns hard a lesson
Well, you know what they say – you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
But that old trope didn’t stop this poor hound from learning that going pee-pee on an electric fence ain’t no walk in the doggy park!
Usain Bolt here (not his real name) is just your average male doggo.
After he lifts up his leg to sprinkle liquid confetti on the lawn, he fully expects to bounce away happy and carefree.
Sure, sometimes Mom or Dad may yell at him if he’s trying to make it rain on the leather sofa inside the house.
But other than that, going potty doesn’t normally hurt his…feelings so much.
Cue evil electric fence.
People install electric fences for all sorts of reasons.
Sometimes it stops unruly pets from escaping out into the world and having their way with the neighborhood garden gnomes.
Other times it keeps out the unwanted riff-raff.
After all, you never know when some rich floof with a diamond-encrusted collar will come along and decide to throw a princess piddle party all over your property!
Also, there’s this tidbit to consider, which is as good a reason as any to construct a death star fence that strikes back:
According to VCA Animal Hospitals, “Dogs with a tendency to climb over, dig under, or chew through fences may be better contained with an electric fence.”
Cue the lightning bolt round.
Setting safe boundaries is what you’re supposed to do as a responsible pet parent.
But, there are some serious downsides to having something that doles out instant pain and punishment in your yard.
Because there will always be someone who comes along to test out those boundaries, like this clueless boxer.
The dog’s owner filmed the unsuspecting pup trying to mark his territory, but then the fence ended up marking his. Yikes!
Naturally, he bolted the moment he realized his shocking mistake.
The internet, meanwhile, can’t get over how instant karma and regret managed to wrap themselves up into one neat little package.
How high can a boxer jump?
Everyone everywhere is probably glad not to be in this unlucky dog’s electri-fried shoes paws balls.
Even his owner can be heard chuckling in the background of the video, which when you think about it, isn’t a very nice thing to do.
In the end, though, the fence did the job it was designed to do.
It protected and served (instant justice).
Too bad Bolt’s furry buddy, who can be seen running away at the very end of the clip, didn’t bother to bark out a friendly warning about how water and electricity are really bad company.
But one question still remains – was it the dog’s hind leg touching the fence that got him into trouble?
Or could it have been the stream of Doggy Mountain Dew that did him in?
We may never know the truth, but one thing is for sure – this pooch will never mark his territory on anything other than soft blades of grass from now on!
