Dogs have so many amazing traits. Yet sharing isn’t usually considered to be one of them. But this dog is different.

When Tina LeVoir-Jones visited her friend one day, she saw something amazing.

Tina and her friend were making dinner, when the dog started begging. At first, Tina thought that this was unusual, as there was no meat or other food around that she thought a dog would beg for.

That’s when Tina’s friend explained that the dog wasn’t begging for herself.

Naturally, Tina was confused with this explanation. So the friend decided to show her what she was talking about.

She picked up a carrot. The dog got excited. She whined happily.

Then the friend dropped the carrot onto the floor. The dog quickly swiped the carrot off the floor in her mouth. But she didn’t start chewing on it. Instead, she started running toward the front door of the building.

Then the friend opened the door. She and Tina watched the dog race out at full speed.

Soon, the dog had reached the stable opposite the home. Then the dog ran into the adjoining field where a horse was standing around.

The dog ran right up to the horse and presented the carrot to her. The horse bit into the part of the carrot that was sticking out of the dog’s mouth.

Naturally, Tina was amazed to see this. She knew that the dog got along well with the horse, but this was something else.

Luckily, another time, Tina decided to film the dog gifting his horse best friend with a carrot.

She then uploaded the video to her Facebook account, where it soon spread far and wide. To date, the footage has gained over 170,000 views. It also has more than 1,000 shares, 400 reactions and dozens of comments. People have been saying things like this:

This isn’t the only story online of a dog befriending a horse. But do any of the others feature the dog giving the horse a gift?

You may want to create your own horse/dog friendship. There’s no guarantee that you’ll produce a horse and dog friendship quite like the one in Tina’s video. But you can try by adopting a dog from a breed that’s known to get along well with horses.

According to PetHelpful, five dog breeds that get along well with horses are golden retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Dalmatians, Australian Cattle Dogs and corgis.

Of course, it’s not surprising that golden retrievers like horses. Golden retrievers love basically every living thing. And Australian Shepherds/Australian Cattle Dogs make sense as horse friends, as the breeds are suited to farmwork and need a lot of exercise.

It may sound odd, but there’s a long history of Dalmatians befriending horses.

In fact, they may be the best choice for someone who wants to make a horse and dog best friends.

Corgi and horse friendships may seem unusual as well.

But corgis were originally bred for farming, so it also makes sense, even if the size difference between a horse and a corgi is huge.

At the end of the day, it’s important to give companion animals a good life. Tina’s friend is excelling at that!
