Have you ever had to drag a screaming child from a toy store? It turns out that the same thing can happen to dogs at the pet store.

We all experience days and moments that we just never want to end.

Perhaps you love eating in restaurants, having picnics in the park or shopping in town so much that you actively try to keep the experience going after its natural endpoint.

Well, Rufio the golden retriever is one and the same. Whenever he goes into the pet store, he just never wants to leave.

Imagine seeing a pet store from a dog’s perspective. All those toys to be played with! All those treats just wanting to be eaten! And all those other animals waiting to be cuddled! If you were a dog, would you ever want to leave that place? Rufio sure doesn’t.

One day, Rufio took his love of the pet store to a whole new level. He and his owner walked in, Rufio’s tail wagging with delight.

Rufio’s owner walked slowly down every aisle, because she knew that Rufio just wanted to spend as long in the store as possible.

She picked out a few toys for Rufio and, eventually, made their way to the checkout.

But Rufio still wasn’t done. If anything, he wanted to have double the time in the store!

So he sat down on the floor and tried to keep his owner from pulling him outside.

Sadly, the owner was able to keep on tugging Rufio out. So the dog decided to try something else.

He lay on his side and started pushing away from his owner, hoping that would be enough to keep him in the world of fun.

Rufio’s owner looked at this and laughed. She said, “Time to go Rufio.” But still the dog wouldn’t budge.

The owner started to pull Rufio away again. But this made the dog even more determined to fight back. He twisted onto his back and spread his legs out.

Rufio’s owner had been filming this incident. The video cut out there, but it’s easy to imagine that this tug of war went on for a very long time.

Rufio the golden retriever is a pretty amazing animal, even if he does annoy his owner when it’s time to leave the store!

He is a certified therapy dog, and he’s helped hundreds of humans with their mental health. His owner also takes him to senior living communities so that he can brighten up the people’s days. And if the pet store video is anything to go by, it’s easy to see how Rufio can relate to humans!

Rufio is also famous. He has over 254,000 followers on Instagram. And people love seeing all of the adventures that he gets into.

He lives in Chicago, Illinois, and has explored the entire city. He’s also gone on a few adventures to other places.

Rufio’s owner is so happy that her dog loves seeing new things and meeting new people, even if that does mean that he’s reluctant to leave places sometimes! There’s no doubt that Rufio has brightened and will go on to brighten many lives, human and animal.
