Rescue dog returned to shelter for being “too clingy” finds perfect forever home

Choosing to rescue a dog is always preferable to buying one at a pet shop.

These rescue dogs have been through so much, and they are all waiting for a second chance in life.

Maybe, just maybe, they can meet the family that will adopt and love them.

Unfortunately, not all dogs who get adopted get to experience having their forever home.

Many rescue dogs have trauma, health issues, or even anxiety. For example, a dog’s anxiety may cause it to be extra clingy to its owner.

After all, their owner is their safe place and they wouldn’t want to be parted ways with the human that they love so much.

But what if, instead of helping a dog overcome its anxiety, would choose to return them for being too loving and clingy?

Jubilee is a “cuddle bug”.

Meet the adorable Jubilee, a very sweet dog who was rescued when she was just a one-year-old puppy.

Unfortunately, she was later surrendered back to a shelter.

Why? Well, she was “too clingy”.

That’s right. Jubilee didn’t want to leave her owner’s side.

Aside from having so much love in her, she also suffered anxiety, which caused her to fear being abandoned and left by her owner.

When people heard, it went viral.

People were so upset by the owner’s decision to abandon such a loving dog.

Because Jubilee loved him, her owner returned her.

It makes little sense, right?

After the article went viral and after the previous owner was called out, Minda Emas Harris, the coordinator of the rescue center of Montgomery County Animal Shelter explained that the owner listed other reasons.

“He had a whole list of other reasons for turning her in: ate his sofa, chewed a baseboard, a cushion, etc.,” Minda Emas Harris explained in an interview with HuffPost. “He brought her to a shelter, hoping we would do what we are supposed to do — find her a home.”

She also explained that the shelter didn’t want the public to hate Jubilee’s previous owner because of his decision.

Since Jubilee went viral, the shelter started receiving calls, all interested in adopting the loving dog.

And finally, they chose an adopter.

Someone who already had experience with dealing with dogs with anxiety.

Jubilee’s new owner, Samantha Fewox, knew how to handle Jubilee’s case. She also had another pup named Abby.

Abby became Jubilee’s big doggie sister.

And they got along really well. Fewox and her family made Jubilee feel at home.

Slowly, she was able to treat the loving dog’s anxiety which made her feel comfortable around them and the house.

“It touched me. She loved so much,” Samantha Fewox said, overwhelmed at how loving Jubilee is to her and her family. “I knew I was supposed to have her.”

Fewox is grateful Jubilee was surrendered.

Now Jubilee came into her life, and she couldn’t be happier.

“I am so thankful he made the decision to do that or we would not have this sweet little dog in our life,” she said.

Jubilee’s story inspired other adopters.

After Jubilee’s story, many people visited the shelter.

After knowing that the sweet dog had found her forever home, they adopted other rescue animals.
