Dog sees friend after a month in quarantine – heartwarming video captures their adorable reunion

As the COVID-19 quarantine starts to draw to a close in some areas of the country, many people can’t wait to get out into the public after such a long time isolated in their homes.

One dog, in particular, was especially happy to see a friend of hers. Their adorable interaction was captured in a Tik Tok video.

In the video, Stefani Maryn is taking her black Labrador, Samantha, for a walk in the pair’s hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. As they make their way down the sidewalk, Samantha gets excited all of a sudden. In the distance, another dog can be seen being walked down the sidewalk toward them.

As it turns out, the other dog is Samantha’s friend Baldur, who she hasn’t seen in a month due to the quarantine. Samantha keeps turning around to look at Maryn to see if she knows who is walking toward them.

As Maryn and Samantha get closer, the eager Samantha can be seen pulling against the leash, trying her best to get to her friend. Maryn has to pull her back as cars can be seen driving back and forth on the roadway between the two dogs.

Finally, when it is safe to cross, Samantha runs up to Baldur.

What commences can only be described as a happy reunion as the two dogs jump, rub, and sniff on each other. These two dogs seem like long lost friends who are seeing each other for the first time in years, even though it has only been a month, according to Maryn. Either way, the meeting is a happy one that has left viewers online not being able to get enough of the Tik Tok video.

As for Samantha’s exuberance in meeting Baldur, Maryn had this to say in a Daily Mail interview: “Three years ago when Samantha and I moved to Hamilton, Baldur was her first friend, who quickly became her soulmate.”

The two dog owners were shocked by the overwhelmingly positive response to the Tik Tok video.

“The overwhelming reception of this video has been beautiful. While neither of us expected such a large response, we are thrilled that their reunion and friendship has brought joy and been relatable during this difficult time,” Maryn said.
