Mama dog rushes car to reunite with her 9 puppies that were stolen and abandoned
One thing limiting animal rescues and the number of animals they can get off the street is the space available. It simply boils down to the fact that most rescues would save all of the animals that they come across if they could.
Fortunately, in many cases, the need to rescue an animal is not always immediate.
That is what happened with one group of puppies dumped on the side of the road in Ukraine. Fortunately, they were saved and even reunited with their mother.
A call about an abandoned litter of puppies
It began when Love Furry Friends, a rescue in Ukraine received a call about a litter of puppies that had been dumped on the side of the road. The biggest problem at the time was that there was no room at the shelter for the puppies.
So, food was left for them and plans were made to retrieve the puppies the next day. They did take one puppy with them who refused to eat to have him checked out. After posting about the puppies online, the rescue received a tip from a family who had been caring for the litter and their mom.
It seemed that a neighbor had taken the puppies and dumped them. The mama dog had been crying ever since they were taken from her. The woman who had tipped the rescue off about who the puppies were, came along to confirm this, which she did.
Reuniting the puppies with their mom
The rescue gathered the puppies up and took them back to where they lived. Close by the mamma dog watched, but was too afraid to get close. So, the rescue workers left the puppies in the open hatch of their vehicle with the hope that she would overcome her fear and come check on her litter.
Mom was so happy to see her puppies again
Once she was sure it was safe, she ran up to the car, sniffing her puppies to make sure that they were in fact hers. Realizing they were her lost puppies; she quickly lost any fear she had and followed the woman who had taken care of her and her pups into her garage to care for them.
Taking the whole family to the shelter
Once the puppies and their mom were reunited, all of them were taken to the Love Furry Friends’ shelter to receive care. Chucky, the puppy who had been taken to the clinic ahead of the others was already there, and after a few days was reunited with his mom and siblings.

At first, mom didn’t recognize him. This was probably due to the clinic’s strange scent, but after some time, she recognized him for who he was. In all, she had nine puppies in her litter, all of who were safely reunited with their mom, thanks to the staff at the animal shelter.
Once they are all checked out and determined that everyone is okay, the plan is to spay their mom and return her to the family that took care of her and her puppies. As for the puppies, the shelter will find loving homes for all of them.
