There are numerous reasons why we call dogs the most loyal animals around and a man’s best friend, and this heartwarming story is just a picture-perfect example. Four-footers will always brighten up your day and make your heart melt, especially when you witness their loving and affectionate personality in person. Sometimes, dogs can be extremely protective of their owners, especially when there are younger children involved.

The following story just shows how protective and caring pups can be of our little ones, and it’s absolutely heartwarming and amazing.

One parent and owner of an adorable pup wanted to film the interactions between his daughter and the family dog during their morning ritual. The large canine always walks the little girl to the bus stop and keeps her company while she waits for her ride to school. When the bus finally arrives, the pooch then makes sure that the little girl gets on safely as she waves him goodbye. The footage is absolutely adorable to see, it’s so sweet to see this dog’s protective nature in action.

As soon as the dog sees that the little girl is safe and sound on the school bus, we can see him turning around and running back towards the front door.

According to experts from the Scottsdale Pet Hotel, it’s absolutely normal that dogs are very protective of their own family, including the human members. It’s actually in their nature.

“A dog will consider you to be part of his family as much as you consider him to be part of yours. They grow up knowing you and get used to having you around. Protectiveness comes from a dog’s wolf ancestors and centuries of breeding, which means that dogs instinctively know when a human child is in need of care,” the website states.

A dog that is well treated will respond with kindness and will always want to aid his or her owners. Dogs can also be quite overprotective sometimes which can result in aggression towards others, but it looks like this pup knows his boundaries. People who do have an overprotective pup are advised to keep them on a leash regularly and praise the pup as he or she stays calm. After a while, it’ll reinforce the feeling that this sort of regular behavior is what’s wanted.

Luckily, there’s no such thing of aggression in this video, just an adorable sight. It was later revealed that the pup in question listens to the name Gordon, and he’s an English Mastiff.

The cute clip was shared on YouTube, where it has already been seen by hundreds of thousands of people.

Dozens of people couldn’t hold back in the comments section and everyone agreed that this four-footer is just too cute.
