Besides the love and companionship that many dogs provide, one of the next best things is training them to do a variety of tricks. These range from getting them to sit, roll over, or stay on command, but some trainers and their dogs take it way beyond even these simple commands.

In a video, a Belgian Tervuren and his trainer wowed the crowd back during the Crufts 2017 dog show with their brilliant routine.

A video of the routine goes viral

Amazingly, the video, put up on YouTube, has gotten over 35 million views. Posted by Crufts, the caption on the video read:

“Italy’s Lusy Imbergerova & Deril amaze crowds at Crufts 2017 with their incredible freestyle heelwork to music routine! Lusy was tied for first but just missed out on taking the crown!”

Imbergerova and Deril start their routine

As the video begins, Imbergerova is shown lying on the floor covered with a blanket. The talented Deril walks up to Imbergerova and the routine begins. Dressed in camouflaged fatigues, the routine appears to be military-themed.

As snazzy marching music begins to play, the pair march around the floor.

Imbergerova and Deril perform in perfect harmony

Soon, Imbergerova and Deril are in a workout routine, with the Belgian Tervuren mimicking his handler perfectly. In a show of skill, Deril balances perfectly on his hind legs as he performs a series of squats alongside Imbergerova.

The pair seems in perfect harmony as they next move into the sit-up position.

The routine gets intense

After getting their exercise in, Imbergerova and Deril next crawl across the floor. After Imbergerova throws a grenade, Deril runs over and brings it back. This causes them both to scramble, but Imbergerova is caught in the fake blast and falls to the floor.

This is when Deril shows his true skills.

Running over to Imbergerova and finding her unresponsive, Deril jumps on her chest in an attempt to perform CPR. He even gives her a few kisses in between his attempts at CPR.

His efforts are successful as Imbergerova pops up, revived, and ready to finish the routine.

Despite their performance, Imbergerova and Deril did not win the competition

Then it is a short march to the judge’s platform where both of them give a salute. Throughout the whole routine, you can hear the crowd as they are caught up in the amazing skills of Imbergerova and Deril. Surprisingly, they did not win, which means the competition must have been very good.

Regardless of whether they won the competition or not, Deril is a very smart dog and was a winner in the eyes of the crowd and those watching online.
