Grieving is one of our ways to cope with the loss of a loved one.

Some studies indicate animals also mourn.

Researchers were able to observe that animals tend to be socially withdrawn upon the death of a family.

It was found that this coping mechanism has been evident even back in the old days.

There are different ways to cope with sudden loss.

Just like humans, animals have their own approach to death response.

Some animals perform a vigil while others visit the bones of their dead relative.

Other animals find comfort in the presence of others, which is the same as this Labrador dog’s story.

Martin, the Labrador, loses his sister.

When his sister died, Martin was not able to take it well.

He became depressed, lonely, and sad, which alarmed his owner.

Martin expressed his grief, and it was evident in his actions.

His owner knew that the dog was grieving for his sister, and she wanted to do something for him.

Emilia found an abandoned kitten.

The Labrador owner brought home the kitten she found accidentally in a field.

She wanted the little cat to be part of their family.

Emilia was excited for her dog to meet the kitten.

Afraid that her dog might not welcome the stranger as an addition to their household, Emilia thought of ways the two could accept each other.

They connected immediately.

Emilia decided to let her two pets meet eventually.

At first, the Labrador was unaware of the kitten’s presence, but his reaction immediately changed upon seeing the unusual face.

The kitten decided to walk towards Martin’s paw, and what happened next was not what Emilia had in mind.

He immediately grabbed and hugged the kitty while licking her face.

Another kitten was adopted.

Emilia and her boyfriend found another abandoned kitten which they took care of.

The kitten was found in the same field where they found the first one.

They introduced the new kitten to their growing family, and they immediately accepted her as their sibling.

Martin was curious to see the new addition to their family, but he was also happy to have a new sister at the same time.

Emilia was happy for Martin.

Despite losing a sister, Martin gained two more in his family.

His owner was happy to see that the Labrador dog was having fun with his sisters.

It was difficult to imagine how hard it was for him to get over his loss.

Martin loves his sisters.

The dog was able to find a family through his cat sisters.

He is patient with them and loves to hang out with them.

Indeed, when you lose something, fate will make a way for you to gain something in return.
