This news story from Texas has garnered outcry from more than just Texans.

A dog trainer in Fort Bend County, Texas, is in very hot water after he was filmed slamming a puppy into the ground.

It goes without saying that the details and video are disturbing, so look up the video at your own discretion. The video takes place at the TyCalK9 facility.

The man was filmed handling a Belgian Malinois puppy in the facility. As per the details from some reports, the facility apparently belongs to him.

Furthermore, the Malinois also appears to have been his dog.

Though since the disturbing video was posted he’s since given up the dog.

It’s not known right now where the puppy is currently, besides that it’s not with him anymore. Some fortunate news, at least.

As shocking as the video is, it’s nonetheless made the rounds on social media.

Clearly, the outcry and anger have far outweighed the disgust. And thanks to that, an investigation into locating the man happened very quickly.

The very disturbing video plays out like this: The trainer holds the puppy by the leash and is visibly frustrated that the puppy isn’t cooperating.

Instead of verbal commands, he resorts to the extreme.

The trainer pulls the leash into the air, puppy with it, and forcefully slams the poor animal into the ground.

The confidence to do something so cruel can, likely, be attributed to both the dog and the facility belonging to him. Though thanks to whoever filmed the cruelty taking place, his attempt to evade accountability didn’t go so well.

Now, he’s facing widespread outrage and an ongoing investigation. The puppy’s leg shattered from the impact, with which it let out a cry of agony. It’s since gotten the leg reconstructed with veterinary help.

The cruelty (and outcry towards it) led the District Attorney of Fort Bend County to issue the following statement.

“The District Attorney’s Office is actively investigating an animal cruelty report regarding a video on social media depicting the alleged mistreatment of a dog in Fort Bend County. We cannot share the details as the investigation is ongoing, but we take these matters seriously and do not condone the mistreatment of animals in any regard. A thorough investigation by experienced animal cruelty investigators and prosecutors is underway.”

Nonetheless, his attempt to cover up his tracks succeeded.

TyCalK9’s listed phone number no longer works, and the facility’s Instagram and Facebook pages have been taken down.

A quick Google search of the business retrieves a result saying that it’s permanently closed.

Although visiting the facility showed a different story. When outlets like FOX 26 went there to investigate, there were still dogs barking from inside.

Furthermore, there was staff still inside the building. A woman peaked from inside at the camera crew and reporter.

When the crew prepared to leave the scene, the woman came out and demanded they not draw attention to the facility.

She claimed that they’d be blocking the facility from any clients who’d come to pick up the dogs.

Perhaps, unsurprisingly, she refused to answer their questions about the video.

This trainer is going to great lengths to not be caught. Though with all the attention on him now, it’ll be very difficult for him to evade authorities for long.
