If you’re a pet owner, there’s nothing like spending the morning down by the pier and walking your well-behaved pack of dogs.

It’s a chance for your pack to socialize better not only with other humans or other sources of stimuli but with other dogs as well. But walking dogs, especially off-leash, is not as easy as it sounds. Fortunately, we have Dog Daddy to give us some pointers.

Dog Daddy is a dog trainer who posts content across all major social media and content platforms.

According to his Instagram bio, Dog Daddy has amassed more than 5 million followers on all channels. Through these videos, he shares with people the importance of having a well-trained dog and that it is possible for us to do it too.

In this episode, Dog Daddy walked his pack of black German shepherds. Funnily enough, because of their color, some of the people he talked to didn’t know what breed they were.

And whenever they kept on asking, Dog Daddy pranks them and tells them he has a rare breed of Golden Retrievers with pointed ears. But then, it’s easy to believe because his dogs are so gentle and well-behaved.

They passed by some other dog owners who were as curious as the others. And of course, from one dog owner to the other, they gave their dogs a short moment to socialize.

This is where Dog Daddy highlighted the importance of socialization. He said that before anyone could take their dogs for a walk off-leash, they should make sure that their dogs are not reactive.

Reactive dogs like to lunge at things and bark at other dogs. This is a sign that the dog is not under your control and should not be taken off your grip.

Another important thing he showed is how the dogs look at him.

The dogs are attentive to his every move – every step, every turn, and every command. If the dog is calm and is looking at you, it means that they trust you. This is one of the signs that the dog can walk on its own.

But there are also important things dog owners need to remember once they become the leader of the pack.

As dogs trust you more, they will rely on you for their needs. A dog owner should be attentive to their dog’s body language. Is your dog veering off because of the heat? Are they thirsty? Is something bothering them? A well-trained dog will not react to its needs immediately so you should be able to catch them.

Dog Daddy has helped a lot of people.

In his videos, he showed how one can train a dog that keeps on attacking other animals and dogs. During these sessions, he got bit, pulled, and attacked. Nonetheless, he remained faithful to his program.

As he shared, it is not about him training the dog in one session. It’s him helping and training the owners to become better handlers so that their dogs can trust them and rely on them, especially at times when they are anxious and unsure.
