180-pound dog waits by the fence every day to give his favorite mail lady a hug
Big dogs can be very intimidating. Their massive size and weight would make you think twice about going near them. Plus, that big mouth and teeth!

But that’s just a common misconception about their breed. You’d be surprised that they could be the gentlest giants you’ll ever encounter. They show affection and loyalty like no other.
A Bullmastiff’s Demeanor
Bullmastiff is one of the biggest dog breeds you’ll find. They weigh more than a hundred pounds – and most likely never under that. Their build may be intimidating, but they are loving dogs.

According to Hill’s Pet, these dogs are gentle, affectionate, calm, and easy-going. They are great family dogs, especially if they are treated well. They can be quite suspicious when it comes to strangers, but with proper socialization, they can befriend and love them as much.
Fronky the Bullmastiff
To say that Fronky is a huge dog is an understatement. This 180-pound dog is twice the weight of most humans, and his size is like having two dogs.

But according to his owner, Eileen, he is just the sweetest dog. He is gentle and kind and loves meeting people. That’s how he met his best friend, Shaun.
Shaun’s Daily Visits
Shaun is their mailwoman, and Fronky grew fond of her. The feeling was mutual. The two clicked immediately, and their friendship grew more profound.
Fronky’s day wouldn’t be complete without greeting his friend. Once he could hear her truck pull over, he got excited and would ask Eileen to open the door and let him out. You could sense his excitement as he paced and circled by the door.
The moment Eileen opens the door, Fronky runs off to the fence. He does this every single day! Shaun would gladly come near him and give him lots of pets which he loves.
The Promise of Seeing Each Other Again
Eileen shared that Fronky didn’t have a sense of the day and dates. He could never tell if it were a Sunday which meant that Shaun wouldn’t drop by. On those days, Fronky would wait until the evening.
However, Shaun would always make sure to assure him that she would come back. During her daily visits, she would say her goodbye and say, ‘see you tomorrow.’ And on her days off, she would bid him with ‘see you in a couple of days.’ Of course, Fronky wouldn’t be able to tell the days, but Eileen said it was touching to hear her bid him goodbye like that.
Why Shaun was Drawn to Fronky
Eileen told The Dodo that they learned Shaun used to have a chocolate Labrador. She thought that maybe that was why she was drawn to Fronky. She filled that emptiness of losing her dog with all the love Fronkie had for her.
They treat Shaun as a family now. Eileen could not ignore the bond between Shaun and Fronky. Their mutual love and appreciation of each other made them a match made in heaven.
