Sweet dog sits and waits for the mailman every day so he can give hugs
As most dog owners know, dogs have another āfavorite personā.
Of course, our dogs love us and our families but for people outside our immediate circle, thereās one that they give their affection to.
They come in almost every day in these wide little trucks bearing the symbol of a private courier service or the countryās post office. And as part of their job going house to house, they canāt help but be close to our furry best friends.
Moose is a dog generous with hugs.
And he sure wants to let everyone know how much loving he can give just like in the video posted on his Instagram account.
A few weeks before the encounter, a new mailman was assigned to their neighborhood. The postmanās route takes him right in front of Mooseās house so itās no surprise that the dog is curious about who this person is.
One day, when the postman passed by their house, Moose wanted to be let out.
In the middle of the snowy driveway, Moose patiently waited as the postman approached. All the while, his tail was wagging in immense excitement about this curiously friendly face.
Then, when the postman leaned down to give him a pat, Moose lunged up to greet his new friend warmly. He weaved between his legs and pranced around the older man.
It somehow felt like an introduction where Moose flaunts how friendly he is.
Their first encounter was short but was long enough to see how the friendship will grow.
āIt was adorable,ā Meghan Gruszynski, Mooseās owner, told The Dodo. āI loved how much he loved our boy and loved how much Moose loved saying hi to him.ā
Their friendship only grew from there. In another video uploaded on Mooseās Instagram account, you can see the dog run out to the edge of the driveway. The truck hasnāt arrived yet but Moose knew his new friend is about to arrive.
And when he finally did, Moose gave him his usual greeting of tail wags and prancing. It was now a tradition, and Mooseās family was keen on keeping that.
While itās just part of the job for most mail personnel, itās especially emotional for this postman.
āIāve come to find out our mailmanās dog recently passed away,ā Gruszynski said to the animal channel. āHe loves how much love Moose gives him every time he is out on his route.ā
“Hopefully it continues for many, many years!” she said. “Heās our mailman ’til he retires, so it should be fun watching their love.”

As of this moment, the tradition still carries on. In one of Mooseās most recent updates, the mailman even stopped by for a while to play snowball fetch with Moose.

Itās such a powerful thing to see the effect of one friend on another, and even if the mailman isnāt Mooseās human, he does not hold back from making his day a little brighter. We sure hope that these two remain best friends for a very long time.
