Dog wearing out baby elephant during playtime gets over 6 million views

It’s always fun to watch animals playing with one another.

We feel their emotions and we also appreciate their unique character and can relate to their behavior, be it good or bad.

While it’s common to see animals playing together, sometimes, depending on the playmates, they can make for an odd-couple.

Just like this dog and baby elephant, who play perfectly well with each other…for the most part.

That is until a childlike tantrum shortens their fun. Nevertheless, people watch them with awe and amazement.

A dog’s usual nature is being social, friendly, and playful with anyone and everyone they encounter.

Even so, it’s still a bit of a surprise when a dog decides to play a game of chase with a baby elephant at Chiang Mai’s Elephant Nature Park in Thailand; a sanctuary for elephants rescued from their less than ideal conditions in the wild, or facilities that treat them horribly.

In the video, a dog approaches a baby elephant and initiates play with him.

They adorably chase each other around the field in circles, getting everyone’s attention.

The dog is clearly the better player at this game of chase, but this doesn’t hinder the baby elephant from trying his best to catch up with the hyperactive dog.

From the looks of it, the dog seems to be playfully “taunting” the elephant as he darts around the field, causing the elephant to chase him more eagerly.

This continues for several moments as the dog continuously tries to encourage the baby elephant to keep chasing him all the time and to try to catch up with him.

Obviously, the dog is more agile than the elephant due to its body build.

Clearly, the bulky baby elephant has difficulties in keeping up with the dog who runs so much faster than him.

While all this is occurring, the tourists visiting the sanctuary and looking over from the sidelines are enjoying the scene happening before them. And the baby elephant’s mom and dad are also nearby, calmly watching their baby play.

It is like watching a cute and intriguing scene from some animal show.

The baby elephant continues to chase the dog with his might, and the dog relentlessly teases the elephant while it runs nonstop in the field.

The calf runs as fast as he can to catch up with his playmate.

The elephant even stretches his little trunk to reach for the dog.

Soon the baby elephant grows frustrated, as he can’t seem to catch up with the dog no matter what he does.

Overwhelmed with the dog’s energy and annoyed with his inability to keep up with the him, the elephant decides to throw a tantrum, which is a sight you don’t get to see every day.

Such a tantrum is usually seen on human children and rarely on an animal, much less an elephant, at that.

Due to his frustration, the elephant kicks up his foot and flings around some piles of straw from the ground with his little trunk.

He is clearly very unhappy with the dog now.

The baby elephant decides to quit the game of chase and leaves the dog all by his lonesome to return to his elephant family.

The elephant’s retreat from the game seems reminiscent of a child getting frustrated over a game he’s playing and, in this case, it’s a game of chase.

An admittance of defeat by the baby elephant seems to merit him some much-needed comfort and consolation from his mom and dad.

On the other hand, the dog sees the elephant’s defeat as a victory on his part in their game.

The dog looks very happy about his win.

The video is both hilarious and adorable to watch. It’s also gone viral and has already garnered 8.3 million views on Youtube, and it’s no wonder. It’s an absolute delight to see.
