Adorable rescue puppy has the cutest “cinnamon roll” ears
Puppies come in all shapes and sizes. In addition to different colors and patterns, their look can differ from puppy to puppy, even within the same litter. So, when a litter of five-week-old puppies were abandoned at the shelter by their parents, Jen Deane, president of Pit Sisters in Florida, stepped in to help them out.
Upon picking them up, she was surprised to discover that one of the puppies looked a little different from the others.
Puppy has unique-looking ears
While the rest of the dog’s siblings had normal ears, hers were curled up like little cinnamon rolls. Naming her Cinnamon, Deane took her and the rest of the pups to the vet where there were checked out, bathed, and treated for worms.
“I’ve never seen a dog with ears like hers,” Deane told The Dodo. “Everyone can’t believe how adorable she is … and she’s even cuter in person!”
Getting the puppies checked out
Cinnamon and her siblings did not get the best start in life, arriving at the shelter skinny and dirty, were infected with worms. Luckily, the puppies were away from their former, neglectful owner and now had a new chance at life in loving homes.
“They were only five-weeks-old but had not been well cared for at all,” Deane said. “We got them right to our vet where they could get immediate health care, and they’re all doing a lot better now.”
With all of the puppies deemed in good health, Deane got to spreading the news about the newest additions to her rescue. Her photo of Cinnamon ended up going viral and soon people from around the world were commenting on how adorable she was. Users on Reddit were quick to point out how Cinnamons’ ears looked just like “victory rolls,” a popular haircut from the 1940s.
Cinnamon is popular online
Cinnamon’s popularity and unique look drove interest in people wanting to adopt her. It also had the beneficial side effect of driving interest in adopting her siblings. Soon, Deane had adopted Cinnamon’s brother Zeke into her own home. As for Cinnamon, she was eventually adopted into a loving home. There she has three other dogs to play with.
Cinnamon finds a new home and gets a new name
Renamed Kira, the unique-looking puppy now lives in St. Johns, Florida. In addition to her new doggy siblings, Kira also lives with her loving parents, Laurie and Matt McGovern. According to the pair, Kira’s ears have started to uncurl as they have grown out. And while this was expected, it has not kept her parents from loving her just as much.
