Dog refuses to come down from his favorite horse he's known since he was a puppy

Emily is a Canadian woman who has two horses and two canines, and they all seem to get along very well. Especially one of the horses, Teddy, and one of the dogs, Robin, seem to share a special bond that can’t be broken.

As Emily explains, the mini Australian Shepherd practically grew up with the horses and, especially, the one that ended up being his best friend, an Andalusian horse.

“Robin started riding Teddy pretty much the first night I brought him home,” Emily told The Dodo. “Their relationship is one of the most important things in his whole little life,” she added about Robin.

Since Robin was just a small puppy, it was obvious that he loves watching his mentor, Teddy, and chilling next to him.

Then, one day, without even having been shown how to do it, the doggie just jumped up on the beautiful horse’s back and since then, he loves riding his best friend.

But besides that, he also enjoys playing the game of chase with him or going on trail rides.

Most of the time it’s Emily and Robin riding on Teddy’s back, but sometimes Robin takes the lead and Emily with Teddy just follow him.

“Robin tries to be in the lead most of the time. [Then Robin] just takes off because he knows that Teddy’s coming,” she says.

And then, when the horse really starts running and it eventually passes the dog, Emily looks back and realizes that Robin is still doing his best trying to catch up with them, which is not really happening.

And when they’re not outside competing against each other, they can still be found together more often than not. They play games or try to steal carrots behind their mom’s back!

Robin already has his own Instagram account, where Emily shares the dog’s adventures and cute videos of him playing or riding his best friend, Teddy.

And, if you’ve been wondering if a friendship between a dog and a horse is rare, experts agree that, no, the two species are more than likely to become friends under the right circumstances.

“Researches report that horses act similarly to dogs when having fun. That’s why they can bond flawlessly through play,” experts explain. “Thanks to domestication, canines and equines can leave peacefully today. Although their ancestors are predators and prey, domestic pets can find a common ground with no probs,” they’re adding.

So, although it is not really a surprise that these two animals get along so well, it is amazing that they have developed such a strong bond, and that the dog just can’t seem to get enough of his equine friend.

Emily, the happy owner of both, is excited to go out and play with them or to just observe how well they interact.
