These two dogs are best friends and one even sneaks over to the other’s house for a nightly ritual

Aeida and Cashew are the very best of friends.

They live next to one another in Melbourne, Australia and are so obsessed with each other’s company that their humans had to install a doggy door in their joint fence so the two could see each other whenever they wanted. Otherwise, the would act forlorn when kept apart.

And Aeida doesn’t just love Cashew, she’s enamored with Cashew’s tiny humans as well. She just adores the neighbor’s children and they seem to love her right back.

In fact, one day when Aeida’s owners noticed that she had disappeared, they were shocked to hear that the pup wasn’t hanging out with Cashew on one of their usual play dates but rather was with the children – and in a most unusual place!

Nicole Ackehurst, Aeida’s mom, told The Dodo that they couldn’t believe what she had done and neither could their neighbors.

“Aeida is very friendly and loving. She really just loves everyone and anything — especially our neighbors’ children. Our neighbors sent us a Facebook message with Aeida sitting in their bathtub.”

That’s right. The dog now insists on being part of the kids’ bathtime ritual!

“I love my tiny human neighbours, so much so that I sneak into their bathtub just before their bathtime – yet won’t get into the bath at my own house!” said a caption on Aeida’s Instagram page.

In fact, Aeida loves bathtime with her little buddies so much that she’ll jump into an empty bathtub hoping that someone will fill it up and climb in with her.

“She will join them at bathtime at every chance she gets.”

Even Cashew joins in on the fun, although it’s Aeida that seems more willing to bathe with the children.

And the neighbors don’t mind. Both couples have recognized that their dogs have an extremely strong bond both with each other and one another’s families. And everyone involved loves having these friendly and loving dogs in their homes.

“I’m pretty sure our neighbors love having her over, just as we love having Cashew come over, too. Aeida and Cashew are great friends and have such a strong bond. They’re both considered great parts of our families.”

The funny part is that Aeida actually hates taking baths – or at least she did until she discovered two tiny humans that will play in the bath.

And like any proper adorable dog, the back Staffordshire Bull Terrier has her own Instagram account where she’s managed to amass a following of over 13.5k fans.

Of course, Cashew makes frequent appearances in her photos, including ones involving mischief.

The two are simply adorable together and clearly have a close bond – as well as some destructive tendencies.

One of their most recent photo shows the two mugging for the camera as Aeida’s human parents set up this year’s Christmas tree.

Cashew even brought her humans with her.

“Today Cashew and Her Tiny Hoomans came over to my house – we helped my Mumma set up the Christmas tree and all the decorations! There were lots of treats and cuddles involved, and both Cashew and I were all about it!,” read Aeida’s caption.
