Owner makes dog’s dreams come true – gifts him 400 tennis balls for his birthday
Dogs are so adorably easy to please. They’re forever wagging their tails as long as you show them some love with some cuddles, food, or a walk.
And even though they’re easy to please, there’s nothing a dog parent loves more than giving their beloved pups the world. Nothing but the best toys, treats, and luxurious dog beds – because how could they possibly sleep on the floor?
Some are even allowed up on the furniture if those puppy dog eyes can work their magic.
Alistair Clyde is a pet mom extraordinaire who loves to spoil her Chihuahua, Bear, and her Belgian Malinois, Titus.
Her pups bring her so much joy, and she always does whatever she can to let them know they’re loved.
Titus loves to play fetch, as many doggos do, but is obsessed with green tennis balls in particular.
Just before Titus’ second birthday, Alistair came up with an extravagant gift idea, and knew it would make for an epic reaction.
It was crazy, but she just had to do it.
“I was like, ‘What would he want for his birthday? What’s his favorite thing in the world? Tennis balls. No brainer!’” – Alistair
She went online to get a better supply than just the standard 4 pack you usually see, and found a website that shipped large quantities.
A site that I assume is aimed at professional Tennis players, or maybe even entire Tennis clubs!
“I saw that you could buy 30, 60, 200 or 400 tennis balls. I first picked the 60 one and was like, ‘What? No. That’s not good enough. He deserves ALL the tennis balls!’” – Alistair
So she jumped into the deep end and ordered 400 tennis balls.
Alister had no idea what was coming his way! What a lucky dog.
It was impossible to keep it as much of a surprise when two giant packages arrived at the house.
I mean, he’s a dog so she probably wouldn’t have had to field many questions if she’s hidden it well but… it was left out in the open, and Titus couldn’t help himself!
He sniffed it out and ripped into the box, grabbing 2 balls before Alistair even knew what was happening.
She managed to pull him back before he got the whole box open, but waited to save the rest until his actual birthday. Gosh, dogs have no patience, do they?!
But the day came… it was finally time to release the balls!
Titus waited patient on the couch, with an adorable look of excitement that he could barely contain.
And then 398 neon green balls poured onto the floor. He didn’t know what to do!
“At first, he was a little taken aback when I dumped them. It took about five seconds for him to start running around like a maniac in excitement.”
Where to start?! They rolled under the couch, bounced into the corners of the room, and cascaded down the stairs.
He was running around in every direction trying to catch them all, and tearing apart the ones he did find.
You may be wondering about Bear the Chihuahua. Did he go wild for the balls? Nah. He prefers a more relaxed birthday. Maybe a spa day, for his birthday them.
“He got treats so he knew he was special and loved, too.”
What happened to the balls after the big reveal? Surely no dog needs 400 balls, and it seems like a bit of tripping hazard for the hoomans.
Alistair kept a few for Titus, and donated the rest to a local shelter. Titus was happy to share his exciting gift with other dogs who love to play as much as he does.
