Little dog is completely overjoyed during her first visit to Target

Puppies are so full of life, energy, and excitement. They are brand new to the world and just want to see and explore everything. When Zira, a Corgi and mini-Aussie mix, got to take a trip to Target, she was really beside herself. Her reaction was adorable as she took in all that was around her. Luckily, her mom was able to capture it all and put the cute photos online.

At only four-months-old, Zira had not seen a whole lot of the world at that point. Her owner Jesse had taken her to Target before, but the young dog had slept through the entire trip the first time. This time it was different, she was awake and it was all so new to her that she couldn’t contain her excitement.

“She reminded us so much of Rose from Titanic, the way she leaned against the front of the cart, looking out into the world of Target for the first time! We could tell she loved it so much,” Jesse told Bored Panda.

Like many puppies, part of how Zira explores the world around her is through chewing on things. So, it must have been very exciting to see all of the new things to chew on.

“She loves getting new toys, ones that squeak, crinkle, or bounce. And since she’s our first dog, she gets spoiled as much as possible!” said Jesse.

Jesse shared the cute photos on her Twitter and they ended up going viral. Overall, the post got over 487,000 likes and was retweeted over 127,000 times on the social media platform.

Target’s pet policy

While you may have seen people bring their dogs into your local Target store, the company as a whole has a No-Pet policy, only allowing service animals within its doors. A lot depends on the dog, the people around the dog, and the store personnel. This means that chances are, as long as your dog is well-behaved, no one will probably say anything, even though the company’s policy is to not allow non-service dogs.

In addition to Zira’s mom, other dog owners have taken their dogs into their local Target store. For the most part, many of the pups are just happy to be with their owner and to relish in the experience of going somewhere new. They will simply sit quietly while their owner goes about their shopping.

On the other hand, some dogs are not as happy as Zira and are a little nervous about being around people and other pets they do not know. In such a case, it might be a good idea to leave such a pet at home. For more on Zira, visit her Facebook and Instagram pages.
