Owner asks her dog if he loves his baby brother — he gives a passionate reply back
A dog is a big part of any family. And, let’s be honest, we consider our dogs important members of our family households. In return, dogs grow to love and care for the people that they live with, especially young children.
So, when a dog mom asked the family pet if he loved his baby brother, there was only one answer he could give.
Ralph E. Doodle loves his family
Therapy dog Ralph E. Doodle is an eight-year-old goldendoodle who lives with his family in Cleveland, Ohio. The family recently welcomed a new addition — a baby boy, named Noah. Of course, Noah, cute as he is, immediately endeared himself to Ralph, who instantly took a liking to the tiny human.
Ralph and Noah quickly become best friends
As the months went by, Ralph showed how much he loved hanging out with baby Noah. His mom, Staci DaVita, was able to catch one of their many adorable cuddle sessions on video.
The cuteness was turned up even more when DaVita asked Ralph if he loved his brother.
Ralph can’t help but express his love for his family, especially Noah
In the video, Ralph can’t help but let his affections for his family be known. Ralph gives a passionate, “I love you,” as Noah sits by his side, a huge grin on his face. It is almost as if everyone present has a complete understanding of what is being said.
Communicating with your dog
Can dogs talk like Ralph seems to be doing? Many experts would say no, but it would seem that Ralph understands the implications of what he is saying, even if he is only mimicking what his mom says to him.
Dogs are known as compassionate animals, so it would only make sense that they can feel love.
Pay attention to your dog’s body language
For the most part, when a dog howls or barks, they are trying to communicate with others. In the wild, this is with their pack mates. And in the same way, this also holds true in a domestic setting, where their human family takes on the role of their pack.
When dogs do communicate with others in their pack, it is to say hello, warn them of danger, or in Ralph’s case, to let them know just how much he cares. Dogs have even been known to respond to the cries of an infant, thinking they are the howls of another dog.
A dog’s ability to communicate and understand is even more evident when they are given the proper training. Your dog is smarter than they might at first seem and can often pick up on subtle clues that you might not notice, such as something being amiss.
Besides, your dog is probably using body language cues that you are missing to communicate with you more effectively. So, the next time you notice your dog acting strangely, pay attention to what is going on around you to get a better understanding of what they might be trying to say.
