Owners can’t find their dog – she had snuck out to have bath time with the neighbors’ kids

Dogs have incredible talent when it comes to making friends and forming bonds. It’s why we love dogs so much – but these bonds aren’t limited to humans! There are plenty of examples of dogs forming beautiful relationships with each other, and when this happens, they often become inseparable and they certainly do their best to spend as much time together as possible.

Down under, in Melbourne, Australia, live two dogs who belong to different families but have become the best of mates.

Aeida, a black Staffordshire bull terrier, and the neighbors’ dog Cashew are the best of friends. They’re so close, they basically live together.

These two pals love hanging out seeing each other every day.

At first, both families would arrange playdates for their dogs to hang out together, but then both neighbors agreed to make things a whole lot simpler for everyone.

So, they cut a hole in the wooden fence that separates their yards and installed a doggy door. This way, they could visit each other whenever they’d like without having to wait for their owners to plan a playdate. Instead, they could greet each other whenever they pleased!

Aeida is a particularly social dog and quickly learned to love spending time with Cashew’s human family as well – especially the children.

The good news is that both families greatly enjoy the freedom their dogs have to enter each other’s homes. They each consider Aeida and Cashew as equally important members of their family.

One day, however, Aeida’s owners took notice that she wasn’t home. They figured that she was likely playing somewhere with Cashew, something that happened very often.

While they were right that Aeida was visiting Cashew’s house, she was more interested in the family’s kids!

The kids love her and she loves them right back! Nicole Acklehurst, Aeida’s mom, even once checked her phone to find a picture from the neighbors that showed her pup having a nice warm bath! Mama was totally surprised and surely couldn’t believe her eyes! She knew that Aeida was usually a sneaky dog, but thought that she hated water!

“Aeida is very friendly and loving. She really just loves everyone and anything — especially our neighbors’ children. Our neighbors sent us a Facebook message with Aeida sitting in their bathtub,” Nicole said to The Dodo.

Whenever the children of the neighbors were in the bathtub, Aeida did her best to join in on the fun!

Luckily, the kids love the fact that they can spend their daily bathroom ritual with one of their beloved pups. It’s totally awesome how both of these families embrace each other’s pets and treat them as their own.

“She will join them at bathtime at every chance she gets. I’m pretty sure our neighbors love having her over, just as we love having Cashew come over, too. Aeida and Cashew are great friends and have such a strong bond. They’re both considered great parts of our families,” Nicole added.

These four-legged pals are simply the cutest!
