In a viral video from America’s Funniest Home Videos, a dog and a baby are shown sleeping together. The mom who shot the video noticed the special relationship the two had after watching them nap together.

Her baby would often get restless and fuss in his sleep. Her dog, though, seemed to hold the key to putting the baby easily to sleep.

In the video, which has been viewed over 220,000 times on YouTube, the dog and the baby sleep soundly together. As the dog dozes off, the baby can hear his soft snores. The dog’s snores are so gentle that the baby is soon sleeping peacefully right beside him.

It seems the dog’s snores serve as a sort of lullaby for the baby, and he can’t help but quickly fall asleep.

Getting your dog ready for a baby at home

If you have a dog and want to add a baby to your family, or the other way around, there are some steps that you can take to ensure that both stay safe and get along.

Start by making a plan, including training your dog to be around a baby when the day arrives for the dog or baby to join the household.

When it comes to your dog, make sure that you have good verbal control over them so that you can easily command them to stop the activity they are doing if needed. You should also get your dog used to the new schedule that happens when a baby joins the family.

Finally, expose your dog to the sounds and smells of a new baby as much as possible by exposing them to baby products or the sounds of a baby. That way when your baby does arrive, the dog is somewhat used to the things that they will encounter.
