Guy shares easiest method for getting the inside of a car windshield super clean
You’d be surprised how much difference a clean windshield can make.
Being able to see through clear glass sure does make for a smoother drive than having to peer through streaks and dirt.
Still, many of us don’t spend much time cleaning the interior of our car and even when we do, cleaning the windshield is usually not our top priority.
Chris Notap has a windshield cleaning hack
Nowadays, when you know how to do something that other people don’t, it’s a good idea to film yourself doing it and then publish the video on YouTube.
If what you know can help out others, you could have a viral hit on your hands.
That’s exactly what happened when Chris Notap shared his windshield cleaning hack.
His video has now been viewed over 3 million times by people who wanted to know Chris’ secret.
It’s actually a very simple and effective method
Many car lovers are far more interested in maintaining what is under a car’s hood, which is perhaps why this secret flew under the radar for so long.
Once you learn it, however, it couldn’t be any simpler.
The problem with cleaning a windshield is that they are usually inclined or positioned at an awkward angle.
In order to get at every part of the surface, you often have to maneuver your body around into pretzel-like positions.
Thanks to Chris Notap, there is a much easier method now.
Use the correct tool for the job
Sometimes a task is all about the tool you use. Choose the wrong tool and your job won’t be done properly.
Using the right tool can lead to your task being completed efficiently.
Chris shows off the perfect tool for cleaning the inside of your windshield.
It’s a little mini-squeegee that is shaped just perfectly for getting all the little nooks and crannies on the inside of your car.
A mini-squeegee makes the job a whole lot easier
The silicone squeegee is recommended for the task of cleaning your interior windshield but there are other products on the market that can accomplish the job just as well.
The main thing to look for is a short and firm handle.
A regular-sized squeegee just isn’t going to allow you to do what you need in order to make your windshield sparkle.
Bigger squeegees can scratch your windshield
The other reason why Chris Notap doesn’t recommend using a larger squeegee is that the bigger ones can leave scratches on your windshield.
Those can be expensive to fix, so best to use the proper tool for the job.
Chris also recommends using Dawn
There are lots of options for soap, but Chris believes that Dawn does the best job at cleaning glass.
Dunk a rag in a bucket of water and Dawn, wring it out, and get all that soapy water on the windshield.
Then simply use your mini squeegee to wash it away and use your rag to wash up anything left behind.
Chris also recommends putting a towel down on your dashboard to prevent soapy water from getting on it.
This technique can be done in as little as three minutes
Chris says this technique shouldn’t take you very long at all either.
In as little as three minutes your windshield should be in great shape.
Many people who have viewed the video left a comment about how effective this method has been for them.
“I use it on my golf cart windshield as well and is equally effective. I even started using the wet microfiber towels after I was done wiping down all the mirrors. A bowl of water with a couple of drops of dawn goes a long way!” one comment said.
Another user added:
“Small tip, with the little mini silicone squeegee you, can clean the window side car-view mirror too by following Chris’s smart way to clean your windshield.”
