Pour an egg with slice of cheese into tomato for a delicious breakfast treat

The recipe requires some relatively simple ingredients, many of which you might already have in your kitchen. To make this delicious breakfast recipe, you need to gather the following items and ingredients.

What you need:

  • 3 medium-sized tomatoes
  • 5 chive stems
  • 2 ounces of Mozzarella
  • 3 large eggs
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Black ground pepper
  • Mayonnaise
  • 2 ounces of cheese (your choice)
  • Silicone brush
  • Medium-sized glass baking dish
  • Cutting knife

Step 1: Cut off the top of tomatoes

Start by slicing off the top third of the tomatoes. Put the tops aside for later as you will use them in the baking process.

Step 2: Remove the center

Next, remove the center of the tomatoes including the seeds. When done, you should have a hollow tomato cup ready for the rest of the ingredients.

Step 3: Chop the chives

Next, chop up five chive stems into small pieces. Sprinkles some of these chives into the bottoms of the tomato cups.

Step 4: Slice and add Mozzarella

For the next step, you need to slice the Mozzarella cheese into thin slices. Add these to the tomato cups on top of the chives.

Step 5: Pour in the eggs

Next, crack the eggs and pour them into the tomatoes on top of the cheese slices, making sure to leave the yolk whole.

Step 6: Bake in the oven

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While toy wait, brush olive oil onto the bottom of a medium-sized baking dish. Place the tomato tops from earlier with the outer skin of the tops facing up.

Place the filled tomatoes on top of the tomato tops. Put in the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Once cooked, the cheese should be melted and a golden brown.

Step 7: Ready to eat

Pull from the oven and allow to cool. When you are finished, you should have a delicious mixture of cooked egg, tomato, and gooey cheese.
