One of the best things about music is that it is fluid. There’s no one way to perform a song. And when you hear a classic in a new way, it can give you a whole new appreciation of the piece.

Inka Gold is a band led by two brothers. The band specializes in bridging traditional Andean music with other forms of music. And their covers of famous songs always sound amazing.

For instance, during one performance, they showed off their unique take on Unchained Melody. Unchained Melody has been covered by countless artists. But you’ve never heard a version quite like Inka Gold’s version!

At a live music event, the brothers started playing the well-known tune.

Pablo Santiago Morales Vega was playing the guitar, and Oscar Andres Morales Vega was playing the pan flutes.

This performance had no lyrics. But the flute and guitar combo gave the music a dreamy, lullabyesque quality.

Santiago Morales then played a guitar solo, showing off just how intricate his playing was. Instead of using a pick, he was plucking at the strings with his fingers and not missing a beat!

This performance soon made its way onto YouTube, where it quickly went viral.

To date, it has gained over 15 million views. It also has 75,000 likes and 6,400 comments. People have been saying things like this:

Luckily, Inka Gold has released nine albums to date. That means that the band has many other incredible performances to their name.

Some of their other well-recieved covers include House of the Rising Sun, The Sound of Silence and Amazing Grace.

Both of the brothers who perform in Inka Gold have been playing music for almost their entire lives.

Oscar Andres Morales Vega first started playing pan flutes when he was just seven years old. And Pablo Santiago Morales Vega first played string instruments when he was six. In their teens, they were such good performers that they were able to perform across Europe. In the 1990s, they came to the USA and would later settle there.

The music that Inka Gold plays dates back to the Incan people.

Incans created instruments from bamboo and clay to mimic the winds of the Andes Mountains. It’s really quite something when you realize that when you listen to Inka Gold, you’re not just listening to a nice cover of a famous song but listening to music in the way that the Incans used it to understand the world around them.
