Ed Sheeran’s rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is gorgeous masterpiece

When it comes to voices sent from Heaven, you’d probably never think of Ed Sheeran by appearance alone. With scraggly red hair, a wisp of facial hair, and usually dressed in flannel shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes, he doesn’t look anything like a successful artist. But he is.

Along with music he writes and performs, Sheeran is known for creating renditions of old classics. That’s what he did with the iconic Elvis song — “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” First recorded by Presley in 1961 as part of the album for his Blue Hawaii movie, it quickly became a favorite among both women and men.

His voice is magical

If you’ve never listened to any of Sheeran’s music, I’d strongly recommend that you order one of his CDs today. Many people describe his voice as “smooth like butter,” “syrupy,” and “unmistakably sweet.” With a soothing acoustic style, his songs like “Shape of You,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Perfect,” have all become big hits.

He made a classic even better

It’s hard to imagine that anyone could take an Elvis Presley song and make it better. But that’s what Sheeran did when he recorded his version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” People who’ve already heard it are blown away. I’m not sure this guy even realizes just how talented he is.

The world loves his music

Although Sheeran was born and raised in England, his name has become a staple in homes around the world. After all, with more than 150 million records sold, he’s now one of the top-selling artists in existence. That’s quite an accomplishment when you consider how many other talented artists there are.

The soft sound of the guitar

When singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Sheeran played the guitar. Not only does he have a magical voice but he’s also incredibly gifted on various instruments. This particular performance was part of the Elvis All-Star Tribune. While Presley is no longer with us, there’s no question he’d be proud.

You could hear a pin drop

After an initial rush of applause, the became eerily silent, hanging onto every word sung by Sheeran. Like millions of other people, they were mesmerized by his vocal abilities. Adding to the dramatic, he had backup singers who were also gifted. Combined, this turned out to be a once-in-a-lifetime performance.

A lot of artists influenced Sheeran’s career

One of the unique aspects of Sheeran is whether he’s singing a ballad, pop, or even rap, he nails it. So, it should come as no surprise that a variety of artists had a profound influence on his music career. Some of those include Westlife, The Beatles, and Eric Clapton. It makes perfect sense considering they all have unique styles.

The comments came rolling in

After the video of this tribute hit the internet, people had a lot to say. One person posted, “Probably the only modern-day pop artist I respect. His singing is real and he actually plays an instrument.” Another individual commented, “Me: ‘You never ever cover Elvis.’ Me now: ‘Only Ed can cover Elvis.’”

Yep, that about sums it up. If you’re going to do a rendition of someone like “The King,” you’d better have the voice to back it up…and Ed Sheeran has that and more. His humbleness is yet another thing that makes him so appealing to people of all ages.
